Tracy Howard

I'm glad someone finally can see he was getting toasted in the 4th. That has nothing to do with coaching.

He looked horrible on that td they scored to tie the game. If he turns his head that is an easy int

When you're practicing in a scheme you don't fit you will never become worth anything. Kid was a press corner coming out of high school and has been 10 yards off the receiver expecting him to pick guys up in the open field and be a stud. That was not his game and so he looks like crap 4 years later.

Here come Folden's vultures looking to scavenge the players. Howard is yet another 5 star to go missing in Folden's 5 star graveyard.

Howard looked like a blanket most of the game. Folden can't seem to figure out a way to generate a pass rush even with a DL full of monster talent.

The D line was getting to Armstrong they weren't finishing sacks. Give me a break.

I noticed the same thing we got there but didnt finish the tackles, artie was one who whiffed, like i said a ton of things went wrong in the game, this was FSU last year but a different result

Different result because we were playing a **** team that will win 4 or 5 games this year instead of the FSU team that won 12.

Just saying that this was a game in the past we would lose

And we would have lost this one too if Armstrong didn't seize up and throw the ball directly to Corn instead of a wide open receiver in the endzone.

He's not 10 yards off of receivers. Matter of fact, he got his a$$ whooped in press against FAU. The WR shook him so bad that he fell.

A CB should be able to play all coverages not just press-man. And we play everything here.

Macho, you stalking me looking for arguments? The point of the post is when you are strong in one area and go somewhere where you never build upon it, you will eventually decline in that ability because it will not be familiar anymore. I agree you should be strong in both if you are expected to be an elite corner. If he couldn't improve his cover skills, then maybe he was never going to be an elite corner, but these coaches have rarely used these guys to their strengths and 4 years later he's looking weak in all areas.

I'm not stalking you looking for arguments, you just say some outlandish ****.

If the only thing you excel at is press-man then guess what...YOU'RE NOT AN ELITE CORNER.

They've used him in press-man, cover-2, cover-4, cover-3, etc. We do it all. Maybe he's just not that good? Could that be a possibility?

Press-man is the hardest thing to play. If you think he gets beat now then put him in press-man all day and then talk to me.

By all means please give me the breakdown in totals and percentages of all the coverages we've run since golden has been here. I never said we don't ever run it. I said most of the time we're putting our guys way off the receivers expecting them to have success. There's a reason we get killed with the same runs up the middle and short passes all day or maybe you forgot games like Maryland, unc, and wake forest where they ran the same play over and over and over and somehow we couldn't stop it even though it was obvious to everyone except al what was happening. I never said Howard was or would be an elite corner. I also never said that a kid fresh out of high school would dominate in his area of strength without proper coaching. I said that he needed to develop his strength and be good at something rather than ignore it and be good at nothing.

There's nothing outlandish about anything I've said when it's a known factor or do you plan on calling out everyone on this very site who has made a similar statement, because I sure as **** don't see you saying that to anyone else who says the same thing. Not sure what you keep getting butt hurt over, but you continuously try to find my post to make a statement when I'm saying the same thing as many others and you stay silent. Either way, I'm not going to argue over it with you. Wasted way too much time arguing the other things with you and I don't have that kind of time, because you have your opinion and I have mine. Refuse to waste my time researching for my statement to watch someone come back with "someone told me..." or "I didn't read it because then I'd actually have to answer the question". That **** is outlandish and lazy and you lost a lot of credibility to me. That's the kind of responses i expected from niner, but not you. Feel free to post that breakdown by game I'll continue to wait on that breakdown just like I waited for a link to your oline grades.

1. Why would there be a link to the O-line grades? You do know that I coached Feliciano in high school, right? Either myself or our head coach would talk to him after just about every game and would ask him how everybody graded out. Why the **** does every statement someone makes need some kind of link?

2. Here we go again, asking for more proof. How 'bout I don't have proof of our coverages, I JUST KNOW WTF I'M TALKING ABOUT! How's that for proof? How 'bout I've sat in a personal film session with D'Onofrio and have seen all of the coverages we run. How 'bout I'm a Defensive Coordinator and can watch Miami and tell what coverages we're running. Do you see me asking you for proof of your statement that we somehow are ruining Howard's career? Where's the proof of that?

3. You should know better than to assume that I'm picking on you. I respond to any and every asinine statement on here, regardless of who makes it. It's called being opinionated and DISAGREEING.

4. Watch the film. We're never 10 yards off of receivers. There is no coverage in existence that has a CB line-up 10 yards off. Cover-2 is roughly 5 to 7 yards off of the WR, outside alignment. Cover-3 is a 7x1 (inside) alignment. Quarters coverage, same thing. (since you wanna get all technical) Press-man is harder than anything else so how in the **** can he possibly excel at press-man on this level if he can't excel at the other coverages?

Finally...

The reason I felt compelled to respond to your original statement is mainly because I'm a coach and I get annoyed by such asinine statements from people who really have no clue WTF they're talking about. I imagine there's someone like you in the stands of every game I've ever coached, sitting there using some crazy logic to explain the result of every play. I hear it in the stands all the time when I go to Miami games. "We played cover-2 on that play! That's why that happened!"

The problem you have is, you don't know how to just stand back and listen. You'll actually sit here and argue with someone who knows more than you. Maybe it's a pride thing, I don't know. I'm not like that so I can't relate. I wouldn't go back and forth with Nick Saban or anybody that was a "higher rank" than me for that matter. I wouldn't argue with an accountant about finances. I wouldn't argue with a dentist about dental hygiene.

It takes a special kind of person to ague with someone that THEY KNOW is more knowledgeable than them in the subject at hand. I don't open my mouth unless I'm pretty sure of what I'm saying. I'm not telling you **** that I THINK, I'm telling you **** that I KNOW. Much different than what you're doing, which is making assumptions. You're "THAT GUY" in the stands.

"He's a press-man Corner and we're misusing him."

"But we play press-man."

"Well Miami didn't continue to work on his press-man skills from high school so he got worse at it."

^LMAO^

He's not elite. Never has been, never will be. Over-rated from high school. He is serviceable, knows the game well, and am glad he is on our team.

For what it's worth, he actually made some great plays in the Nebraska game. He was responsible for Bush's interception. He had an up and down game. He won some, he lost some.

P.S.
The TD that he got beat on, he was in press-man coverage, supposedly his strong suit.

I remember how happy everyone was when we signed him. It was a big ******* deal.

Too bad guys wanna throw our best kids under the bus because they have to find a scapegoat for an almost historic collapse that would have seen this ******* despicable corching staph be gutted like a dead fish.

ATTN TRACY HOWARD!!!!!!!!! I got nothing but love for you homie. Fvck these haters!!!!!!

Tracy Howard will probably be in the NFL then we will get to come back to this thread and laugh at the haters.

Our defense has sucked since Golden showed up. Forget the stats. Anything a team wants to do, they do it. There is nothing we are good at. I refuse to blame anyone of these kids until they're coached by real coaches. Time and time again they leave and go ball in the league. Gtfoh with that bull.

This is a Miami defense!

You say you know your **** but Coach D talked to you 1 time and know you white knight the staff. Weird ****

The sooner we get rid of Golden and his crew of flunkies the better. Paul Williams is horrid. Name a standout DB we have had since he has been here. Sure guys show flashes just based on talent alone but if these same kids went to Bama or FSU they would be first round draft picks.

Rewatching the game, our entire secondary was toasted in the 4th so I don't know how you singled out Howard.

Burns included Although on his play Nebraska tried to set a pick and allowed the receiver to gain seperation from Artie.
