I'm glad someone finally can see he was getting toasted in the 4th. That has nothing to do with coaching.

Let me get this straight...

Five-star recruits won't even give Miami the time of day anymore thanks to Golden's failures. But one of the rare five stars he actually landed early in his tenure is struggling and in your opinion it has nothing to do with coaching, even though Golden and his staff wanted him badly coming out of high school and have been "developing" him for four f***ing years? He was a hand-picked Golden guy.

Nothing to do with coaching? These are all Golden's players. When a college coach's seat is scorching hot in his fifth year and players are still struggling, coach apologists like yourself fail to realize that it all comes back to Golden now.

I was referring to the specifically to the 4th quarter. It is what it is. It happens. Maybe being asked to defend someone for 10 seconds after the QB buys extra time with his legs in the pocket is the problem but he gave up 14 of those points from what I saw and allowed numerous big plays.

Different result because we were playing a **** team that will win 4 or 5 games this year instead of the FSU team that won 12.

And we would have lost this one too if Armstrong didn't seize up and throw the ball directly to Corn instead of a wide open receiver in the endzone.

I wasn't following recruiting back when Howard committed, so I have no idea why a corner with suboptimal measurables and below average athleticism would be rated a five-star recruit. Usually the 247's and ESPN's of the world give the highest ratings to HS players with elite physical tools and athleticism, high upsides, and the most potential to have their skill sets translate to the next level.

That being said, some members of the slurp squad have thrown out baseless accusations over the years such as $EC bagmen and South Florida recruits being divas to try to justify Golden's failures with premier talent from our own backyard. In reality, why would any five-star talent want to come here given this staff's track record with that type of talent?

Those are the only three five-star recruits Golden has landed in 5 years here. Thomas still has time to turn it around, but at least half his college career is being wasted under Golden. It's no wonder why not even a single five-star recruit has given Miami the time of day for 2 years running with those results and our woefully underachieving, perpetually disappointing on-field product.

Howard did make some good plays out there. I counted 3 pass breakup's in man coverage vs Nebraska, and he gave up 2 other plays that he was directly responsible for in man coverage. Some of you guys thinks it's a video game, but in real life, it's actually hard to bat 1.000% at CB, when you're out there on an island.

When this guy catches 2 interceptions, 85% of you summa-mu-snitches will back on the bandwagon!

I thought Howard played solid. He's not our best corner but he's solid 3rd guy. He's just not better then Burns and Elder.

Nowhere did I say he was garbage. Read my post. I said he's a quality third corner behind Burns and Elder. On many other teams, he'd be a starter.

He's just not a five-star talent, and if you expect him to perform like that you will be disappointed.

When I saw Tracy Howard play against my high school (multiple times), you couldn't throw to his side. Dude locked down every receiver he was put on and made huge plays. The coaches at Miramar clearly let him freelance and he went after it. He earned the 5-star tag for a reason.

I just think he doesn't fit well with Doritos' scheme, then again, who really does?

Howard looked like a blanket most of the game. Folden can't seem to figure out a way to generate a pass rush even with a DL full of monster talent.

What 5 star graveyard is that? We are lucky we get one 5 star a year. Look you can't complain about player development with every player. Did you complain about Walford being developed? Or Armbrister? Linder? Dorsett? Howard might just not be good enough. I don't have an issue with player development as much as I don't think he has any clue how to put together a freaking winning game plan. Its ridiculous given our overall talent. But one player not developing to full potential? That happens in alot of places. For every Howard that doesn't get better, a Gunter does. Sometimes guys are rated wrong.

Terp, I don't know why you find it so hard to understand that some 5 star players may not actually be 5 star. How many times do people see a 3 star and talk about how great he is.........so if you think players can be mis-classified one way, they can certainly be the other way.
