TOS report on RJ and Kendrick

Part 1 of changing the culture is convincing kids like this to think about the program and themselves at least equally. Part 2 is selling them on a plan to get them both paid more money after another season, then delivering.

If these boys come back, we definitely fuggin' next year.

Part 1 is completely laughable. Sounds very romantic, but unrealistic.

What employee, let alone one that works for free, thinks about themselves and the company they work for on equal terms?

If another company offered you more money to come work for them, would you stick it out for another year cause it’s what’s best for the company?

This notion that kids should care about the program above all else is insane to me. I’m sure most do care about the U and forever will. But when it’s time to get paid, they’re gonna do what any other person would do.
I don't know, Sonny Michel and Nick Chubb? Multiple Alabama DL the past 3 seasons? It happens all the time in college football. You may not like that fact because it hasn't been the case at our program, but those are the facts everywhere. Otherwise as you're suggesting every half decent eligible underclassmen was simply just go to the NFL. But that doesn't happen.

Those are exceptions these days. They leave more often than not.

There are a lot of L's that happen on both sites. Pete and Ferman are just doing their best relaying the information they hear.

Those "exceptions" are the two teams squaring off in the NC game tonight. My point stands.

The equation is not that simple. If you stay and work another year at lower wage/free you could make even more later. IMHO the ability to delay gratification is one of the better indicators of long term success. Thinking short term is usually a problem in the long run. It would be an interesting case study to go back and see how it worked out for all kids that declare early versus those that stay.

No, my point stands. I’m not arguing that those kids staying is what’s best for the program. It obviously is.

I’m arguing that them leaving early is what’s best for them in most cases, but certainly not all.

That’s definitely true. But the exact opposite is also a possibility. You could stay, get hurt or lose playing time to someone else, and make even less. It’s a risk.

If they stay, the program can only benefit. For the player, they could benefit or lose.

If you lost playing time to someone else, you would be cut in the NFL before the season starts anyway. As far as injury, yes that’s a major concern but you can take out high dollar insurance policies on yourself. Life is about risk taking. I personally think the best risk with the highest reward is to come back for both of them. At least they would have their degree in a worst case scenario and that degree will help them more long term than getting cut by an NFL with it the first couple of years.

I think you can only take out those insurance policies if you have a 1st or 2nd round draft grade. Thought I heard that.

I personally think they should come back to. But I’m a fan of the program and want to see it do well. Point is, the opinion of anyone on this board is completely slanted because of our desire to see the program win again.

Why would you make the decision together? Seems too wacky to be true.

Pete has been saying this all along. Do y’all not follow his post? He said they are roommates and best friends.
There is no doubt in my mind that their desison will be the same... Their girl friends are close friends... Shaq text them... "Good luck on you all's sesion... but if yall come back.. it's on" as of last night.. RJ responded back with I got you bruh" RJ and Norton are tight... don't see one leaving the other behind.

Thanks for the info. I don’t know RJ’s personality but that sounds like a response I would give someone if I was heading to the NFL.

Canesport posted another update. Pete’s sauces went cold!

It appears that Canesports "update" is a recap of Richt's Monday morning conversation with WQAM. Hardly a scoop if that's the case.

So typical click bait. Richt said the sit down went well and the players have a tough decision to make. Sounds like he pitched the idea of having a degree is more valuable long term than a quick jump to the NFL.

Herald had a similar update, though it included some words from RJ’s dad, who seems like the only source anyone is talking to. Nothing major aside from stating that prior to their meeting with Diaz and Kul he thought they would’ve had a decision by now.

The first few rounds is only for the school paid insurance.

These guys can take out a private insurance policy with Lloyds of London if they don't qualify for the NCAA program.

Frankly, if they don't qualify then that should speak volumes about their draft prospects.

IF we get these dudes back, there is no excuse not to be in the playoff next year. We will have a true signal caller. I have no doubt about that. IDK who it will be but one of these guys will be that dude.
