Today is zero barrier

It will likely be after the bowl game. If they’ve waited this long it’s likely not till after that. If the team is allegedly playing hard for him why risk the opportunity to win a bowl game regardless if it’s not a major bowl.

A lot of players will be upset and not motivated to play for an assistant coach who won’t be here either.
Whoever the coach is going to be it’s likely not gonna happen till after a ny6 bowl.

But before this place got all warm and fuzzy after the James firing I told everyone that there is a possibility that all this coaching talk is a distraction in order to be able to kick the can down the road as far as possible.

If he’s sitting down with recruits and doing in home visits then he’s not leaving at least until after nsd.

I couldn't imagine sitting down with Manny Diaz as a recruit. "So, why are you here? You're getting fired, right?"

If he doesn't answer "Yes" then either you know he's a liar, or it's a school that doesn't care about football. Either way I'm committing elsewhere.

Normally I'd agree with you but we are in a unique situation. Blake was fired 13 days ago and it's been well documented that they want the AD in place before making any coaching decisions.

Buyout amounts dropping drastically on a certain day of the year is how it's always been done, and it's stupid. Buyouts should decrease more consistently throughout the life of the contract, instead of these big step changes. Ex: 10M buyout over a 5 year contract that decreases every month/week for a prorated amount, instead of annually.

It's a win win for both parties. Schools can move on sooner if they want, coaches make more money on the buyout when let go, and lame duck periods become less frequent.

I can see it now. UM says it won't fire Manny because the team is solidly behind him. Then, even if we lose (again) in our Bowl game, all the decent candidates (except for some NFL coaches) will be locked down.

I genuinely feel this is the plan

If Manny isn’t fired today, he’s not going to be.

Am I wrong in thinking that? The season is over. Almost all firings take place the day after the season, if not in-season. I know we don’t have an AD, but if he’s not going to be here next year, what good does keeping him until tomorrow or beyond do?

Tell me I’m wrong here because I don’t want to cry myself to sleep tonight.
No vote of confidence no firing, confidence vote is a must so far nothing.

1-2 more years

I hope most of you are correct. But nobody has really given me much confidence. We’re going to wait till Wednesday to save $2M? And we think this is going to be a national power in football with spending on par to all the other national powers? El oh el.

Oh well, guess I’ll hope it happens today and not, and it doesn’t happen Wednesday, then what?

I suppose, for those of you saying I’m wrong, what’s the date where you think it’s do or die? Wednesday? After the bowl? After Oregon or Ole Miss’s bowl?

Again, I think the buyout is part of it but more has to do with having an AD in place first

Nobody has a clue what’s going on. The insiders said an AD was secured, then we learned they’re starting a search firm for an AD. We were told manny being fired is a done deal, yet he’s still coaching the team, on the recruiting trail, and the players are openly supporting him with organized hashtags. Manny also does not sound like a guy who received his pink slip. We haven’t heard one word from anyone in a leadership position at Miami that anything different then the status quo is going to happen.

They're not going to eat $2 million for a 3 day head start

Will you permaban yourself if Manny is let go?

He either knows he’s getting fired or doesn’t.
There is the real possibility that frenk told him he will let the new ad make the decision and that’s what he’s telling recruits and the players that like him are sending a clear message that they don’t want him fired.

But if he’s a real one he should say even if I’m not here this is where you should play cause the president and the bot have committed to compete and this is Miami.

Wether that changes things or not I have no idea.
