Timberlake

Really curious to see where he ends up. His game film from this year is as mediocre as it gets.

At this point, it is best to "mutually agree to part ways" with Coach L and his staff.
I don't know if it was his comment about the team "not being good at shooting 3 pt shots or defending 3 pt shots" or the "injuries the past 3 years are bad luck" or "the my way or highway approach" in dealing with Matt Cross but it has become obvious, it is time for a coaching change.
Only a new coach could fix this situation as no one wants to see Coach L on the sidelines at Miami.
It is sad it is ending this way but Coach L is not a quick fix guy.

He was a projected lottery pick before arriving at Miami. Earl can play. The problem is the coach.
Just go to the 2020 recruiting thread. There are plenty of game highlights of Earls skills before getting to Miami.
He played 7 games and probably rarely practiced because he was either injured or rehabbing an injury. Thats not a coaching issue. He needs to get healthy so he can practice consistently and then play for anyone to see what he's capable of at this level.

I said in the thread when he committed, his film doesn’t look like a 5 star whatsoever but was glad to get him. He’s got a long long way to go if he wants to be a lottery pick.

This should be the end of the line for Coach L. Love him, was good for us for a long time, but it just isn’t working anymore. But this is Miami, where Blake James and most of the BOT couldn’t care less about sports that aren’t football.

Yet some people were trying to say cause we won two meaningless ACC tourney games that Larrañaga should return...SMH

literally haven’t gotten a freshman recruit in what 2-3 years to stay? Completely unacceptable. The program is BROKEN! It needs new life or else we’ll be playing women from our girls team to help out with depth.

FIRECOACHL
Not many people were saying that...

People saying fire Coach L but we'd be no better next year by getting rid of him. Miami Basketball is Miami Basketball. Its ceiling is simply a lot lower than football and baseball is at UM and people need to realize that. We don't have power forwards growing on trees at Columbus High, nor do we have point guards popping up at Westminster down the road to recruit. Being in South Florida provides little to no built-in advantage in the winter indoor sports. Some of Coach L's teams have been fun and exciting, but what we've enjoyed is an anomaly. We should be thankful we got to experience it at all.

The athletic department would be wiser taking some of the basketball investment and putting it into baseball instead. There is no reason baseball shouldn't be the true second sport here. It's a program that will actually contend and possibly win a national title, with the history to prove it. Basketball has no chance to compete long-term with the ACC blue bloods, much less even many mid-major programs in the Northeast. Perhaps some tough decisions need to be made regarding the long-term future of the program. Football and baseball could seriously benefit.

NBA personal have seen him healthy prior to him coming to Miami. That is why he was ranked so high because they could see his pro potential.
Miami obviously hurt his stock.

The point about south Florida hoops is wrong. Is so flo as loaded in hoops as it is in baseball and football? No but you can absolutely field a competitive acc club with kids from south Florida and Florida as a whole. The problem is, this staff doesn’t even try to land the kids in our backyard

There’s got to be something rotting inside the program. It happened so fast. There was so much momentum coming into the season. Almost like Coach L said/did something unforgivable. Just speculating of course.

No there wasn't. The team was healthy toward the end of last year, and got boat raced repeatedly in the final month of the season.

The roster stunk, but nobody wanted to acknowledge it because they had 7 seniors and a guy everyone was saying would be a one and done.

He thought he'd be a one and done, now he's going to have to stay in school(Should be a 3-4 year player after watching how utterly raw he is as an offensive play) and I don't think he was prepared to play so far from home for an extended period of time. Homesickness is a thing, and you could see him become disengaged as he wasn't able to play.

Any NBA scout with half a brain would realize he was only highly ranked in high school because he was 2 years older than every other player on the court.

He shoots from his f cking nose. Barring a complete overhaul to his game offensively, he isn't a legitimate NBA prospect, and he never was.

Lol this dude was *** in the few games he played. Does anyone know why he is transferring or just jumping to conclusions like with Lykes?

Not sure why this is being treated as such a big deal. Cross's departure was far more important, Cross was an actually good basketball player.
It’s a big deal because we are dangerously thin in terms of just having a team. The roster consists of Wong, Beverly, Walker. We have 2 signed recruits and 1 committed but not signed. That is 6 guys. Maybe Olaniyi comes back. And good luck getting any transfers to sign up for this mess.
