Thomas Davis Commits!!!!

Frame talk and prototype stuff is fun and all. But some of the nastiest pass rushers in college football history were shorter guys like Davis. Sometimes, it can be less about height and weight and more about speed, explosion, heart, anger, violence, motor, etc.

Dwight Freeney was one of the best college pass rushers of the past 25 years. Guy is barely 6 feet tall.

I think you have to project as an every down play for a 5 star. I'm not sure he'll be able to hold up vs the run, and have zero ILB tape to go off of to warrant that either.

What have u seen to make you say he wont be able to hold up against the run? I never said ANYTHING about ilb.

I was referring to the tweet about him playing LB, not really commenting on anything you said.

His size indicates that. Obviously there have been some his size to dominate, but it's against the odds. The kids quick as ****, if he can use that in this scheme to shoot the gap and disrupt running lanes I can see him being a 3 down player, but that's not really what a 5 star player is. Those usually are less of a projection and more of a sure thing.

I'm not the only one projecting him as more of a pass rush specialist.

Rivals has him listed at 6’3 223. Think rumors were hes closer to 6’1. Rivals had GR listed at 6’7 205. He hasnt even played his senior year. What weight do you want him at?

There's only so much good weight you can put on a 6' 1" frame.

NFL ends average 6' 4". You can add more weight on a frame like that and remain athletic - not to mention length.

Guys like Freeney can thrive at that height, but he also had an array of moves with insane power and bend. He would just bull rush NFL left tackles into the QB's lap at times.

I like Davis, I think he's a take for sure; i'm probably just arguing the semantics of a 5-Star prospect.

100% agree when thinking of a 5* think trevor (sunshine clem qb) or j fields, jwill or leonard taylor! They are no doubt 5* if u have to wonder then there not 5*'s.

Nothing surprises me in recruiting but I hope you're right. If he shows that he can play ilb at a top level his potential will be limitless. Right now he projects to a 6'1 pass rush special
