Thomas Brown to join staff

He will be CO-OC with McClendon.

Lilly will be assistant HC.

Looks like each will make 600k.....total is $1.2 for offensive coordinators.

We have a 5 mil budget.....plenty of $.

You keep throwing these names and figures around...you've proven you dont know ****.

He proved that 2 years ago. He's the crazy comic book expert uncle with Velcro sneakers that everyone ignores.

But Richt has no pull

Suckers
Offering a 29 year old dude with limited coaching experience a $600k salary and co-OC title versus the likely $300k and RB coach title at UGA isn't really "pull". He's getting a huge raise and big upgrade in job title.

That seems to be the nature of the college football landscape these days.
Lots of coaches getting overpaid.
Didn't Kehoe allegely doubled his salary when he took the Ole P!ss gig?
And that was after he was canned at UM.
I've got no problem with UM acquiring the reputation of overpaying coaches, but to suggest that Richt "pulled" a kid with four years of experience by doubling his salary and giving him a promotion is disingenuous and reeks of unnecessary deification.

I hear ya.
At this point I just want to see the staff in its entirety before passing judgement.
Especially the DC and OL coaches.
I am not getting some of reactions thus far from some folks.

Al Foil needs to be kicked off this website holy **** this is ridiculous. This guy ruins every thread he's in pretending to be an insider. How's that Chud hire looking?

I care most about our DC, so I will withhold judgment until we fill out our entire staff. So far I see a bit of nepotism, which is not something I like. Golden was that way, too, with his BFFs on D.

RB coach is a recruiting position. If Brown is a great recruiter, then this is a good hire. If he isn't an insanely effective recruiter, then we overpaid to hire a kid that Richt likes.

I don't know enough about who Brown recruited and how good of a recruiter he is to comment on how good or bad this hire is. Guys claiming it's s great hire because he had the good fortune to be on a staff where guys like Gordon and Chubb played are retarded men.

We'll find out what kind of recruiter he is right away when it comes time to poach some of those UGA commits in a few days.

But what if someone poaches the recruits of our greatest recruiter and connection to the money pot of recruits in Dade, Ice Harris? The way he delivered...........was unparalleled .....and then there was......., and that other guy. ****. We ****ed without him.

Not sure why people assume that folks are mad bc we are replacing Corch Ice.

More that folks would like to see coaches hired based on years of experience, not how friendly they are with Richt.

our last two rb coaches, Ice and Hurlie had no experience coaching Rb's.

Give me an incredible recruiter with a good coaching background at RB coach. Is Brown that guy? We don't know, but we'll find out soon enough.

You don't need some grizzled Gorton's fisherman looking guy to coach RBs. First and foremost, you need to acquire great RBs like Gurley and Chubb. No one is going to coach a bad RB into being a great RB.

Brown's background as a position coach is good enough to have UGA's RBs look good in the areas aside from natural running ability. Is he a difference making recruiter? We'll see very soon. In a few days.

I wouldnt put too much stock into reported salary numbers.

Nor would I. We don't know how much Right is making, so I doubt any assistant salaries will be known either and it matters not.

I'll be thrilled if this helps get Whaley here. If not, I like young hires at the RB and WR positions since they're easier positions to coach and both positions can produce immediate impact players. Since our recruiting areas have an abundance of both, it's a bonus.

"Mark Richt sucks because he's going to hire assistant coaches he is familiar with and did not hire a 60 year old guy I had never heard of until two months ago. I have to change my coach-worshipping screen name now."

What has Mark Richt won in his career to justify bringing in all his former players from a job he was ****-canned at?

When have you won jack shiat?

Oh wait you never?

Then why the Fughk are your even talking chiat again?

Oh wait you say because you ****** is bleeding again and your life is miserable?

Then go buy the biggest box of tampons (super flow) and put all can fit in your mouth and then stick the rest up your nose and then go to sleep. When you wake up our problem will be solved and we can be rid of these Miami posers.

Look at the rage here of this porster. Ya'll sound like the typical millennial who wants to control the message and have a safe zone from all criticism and "mean" talk.

Or maybe you know deep down that Mark Richt isn't suddenly going to transform into an elite HC without an elite staff?

That should be the concern.

BTW, who were you formally known as?

Golden Showers

This thread just proves how desperate everyone is to talk about.....well anything.

Good god this is painful **** to read.

This site is going to Crash completely when we name our DC. We have the most delusional fan base in America.

Where did I ever say I wanted to keep the current corches. I want the current coaches gone for the same reasons I'm skeptical about the UGA ex-player welfare program. I have watched 15 years of poorly coached Canes teams that were loaded with talent but underperformed bc of amateur coaches.

And the blind faith in Mark Richt is something that I will not be doing this time around. Btw, for a guy who was an SEC coach for 15 years, his coaching tree is pretty light in the ***.

Says the guy worshiping Richt with his handle. You sir, are a joke.

Read the handle out loud to yourself. You might get it then.

Board full of men and you want to pronounce yourself erect? Either that or your handle is a reflection of Richt fandom, Lame either way.

And your looking for cronyism, not nepotism.

Unbelievable lol. So for some people on here only people allowed to coach RBs at TheU are

Willis McGahee
Clinton Porrtis
Ricky Williams
Don Solinger
Earl Campbell
Ray Lewis
Larry Csonka
Herschel Walker
Larry Csonka

Man get these trolls outta here lol

Nine ******* pages of posts about the hiring of a RB coach...

The Bowl game can't come soon enough.
