The difference between him and Wilfork is, Wilfork would destroy the offensive linemen and hit the RB in the back field. When do you see Porter doing that? Wilfork drove the qb out of the pocket too, when has Porter ever done that? This offensive line is terrible.

This guy is delusional. And if one of your DTs had their best game ever and they still ran for 350 yards on you then that just proves the scheme doesn't work

This. Could you imagine a Canes defense where Vince Wilfork plays his best game of the year and we give up 48 pts? LOL

I'm not buying it. In this 3-4 stuff we're still playing two DTs at a time.

Whether it be Porter and Pierre together, or Renfrow and Robinson together or some combination of the four. Either way, we have 2 DTs on the field at all times other than obvious passing downs when we kick Chick inside.

Yes they did, to play them on 12 3rd downs a game. Forget about playing over studs such as Thurston Armbrister and Tyrone Cornelius.

Robinson missed the season, Forston played in 3 games and Porter in 2.

The way I took it was that he (Golden) had missed on DTs, which was part of the problem. Also, Forston, Robinson, Porter all missed a lot of games.

That's not what he said, and, yes, your second part is the way I took what he said.

So he would have preferred a more aggressive scheme but we missed on some recruits so we have to use this passive scheme he's always run?

The roster did blow cack when he arrived but that doesn't mean that we can't hold VT and Duke to less points in 2013.

You guys can debate all you want, I was just pointing out what actually happened in 2011. We also had to move Adewale Ojomo from DE to DT because of lack of numbers.

2011 (SENIOR): Played in 11 games on the season, earning seven starts ... Made the shift from defensive end to defensive tackle for his junior campaign.

As for DL recruiting, I agree it rests on the staff it is FULLY on the staff. But when should 2012 DL be playing? 2013? I don't think so. Even if Al didn't miss on some DTs in 2012, should they be relied on in 2013 for heavy burn?

Hahaha. I agree. A defense is made up of 11 guys (I think), maybe 10 guys had their worst game because we played like it.
