This presser is just adding to my anger!

My point was he's full of sht to say he arrived looked at roster and decided 3-4 was only option

The lack of recruiting DL rests solely on this staff.

That's not what he said, and, yes, your second part is the way I took what he said.

So he would have preferred a more aggressive scheme but we missed on some recruits so we have to use this passive scheme he's always run?

That strikes me as convenient

Huh? My ONLY point is that the lack of DL that he mentioned in the presser he has admitted was his fault, due to his own failure to bring in more of them. I have no clue what he would or wouldn't have preferred, other than having more DL.

They are just bad coaches, they make it hard to watch hurricane games because you know the worst is coming on D.

Oh and Vernon Ojomo chick too

Not trying to be a **** but...

Vernon was suspended for 6 games in 2011.

Ojomo was moved to DT (undersized) out of desparate need for DTs.

Chick was a true freshman in 2011, not exactly a good thing to rely on.

Anyone else notice when things don't work its because of the players ******* up and when things go well its because he made the right call

I see your point. I'm saying it sounds like he's alluding to being forced for whatever reason to go w a 3-4.
That is bull****
He's always to my knowledge run a 3-4

But now the heats coming on him for being stubborn with this sht defense,
So he's trying to say it's the only thing he could run? Oops?

Didn't they recruit McCord and these hybrid guys?

Golden has admitted that the failure to bring in DTs forced his hand. Can't remember when or where, but I know he's said it.

Goldens first year
Forston jr
Regis jr
Porter so
Robinson so

So, golden forced his own hand?

Not for nothing but...

3 of those 4 hardly played in 2011.

Robinson missed the season, Forston played in 3 games and Porter in 2.

The salesman continues his victim pitch

/unless he fires his buttbuddy, then I'm believing again

I disagree with the bolded statement. The failures at recruiting the DL existed when Golden arrived. I have a hard time blaming the guy 100% given what he walked into in terms of a roster and what slapped him shortly after he took the gig. I want to see what he does now with the NCAA off his back.

This is why his players quit on him. He's a **** who is constantly blaming the defensive problems on busts by the players. They laid down on him against Puke. Good luck getting them back, fvckface.

You know who else had a great game on Saturday?

Duke's running game, which had the best game Cutcliffe has ever had at Duke or Ole Miss.

that presser was another car sales job. I truly dont understand why this jerkoff can say what ******* defense we currently run and what he wants to run in the future. Sick of hearing this "multiple" ****!

Puke's offensive players are way smarter than our defensive players because they didn't bust any assignments. All they busted were big plays.

Who did he blame for that screen pass against FSU?

The OLB or rush end should have "hugged" the running back on that play. He made reference to it. It is the proper technique and we didn't execute it.

**** the hatred for Golden is getting outta hand. Apparently everything he says is BS. There's no right answer... Unless he says something along the lines of "D'norfrio is getting fired by the end of the week" he's gonna get bashed regardless lol. I actually enjoyed that presser and gave me more confidence that we can make this work, we just need the right players for the system he's running.

Something i don't like is the fact Golden has always said from the moment he was hired that the system will be based on the type of players we have on the team... Clearly that's not what we're doing. He really wants to run a 3-4 and he continues to run it half the time, but we just don't have the speed and athleticism at LB or enough depth on the D-line to be able to be successful with that defense. Last week against Duke we saw a lot more 4-3 because i think that's what we're more suited for. Our D is learning two different schemes at the same time, which is too much for collegiate athletes.

When we can run 3-4 full time, that's when we'll start seeing success on our D. I think Golden is actually running a scheme that he doesn't really want to run.

I honestly don't care what he says, I care about the results and what actual happens.

If Coach D + Jethro are gone, I can deal with this stuff.

If we win more games (i.e. Duke and VT), I can deal with this stuff.

#Canes DC Mark D'Onofrio: "When you have 1 guy not doing his job, they can def. find you ... When you have 2 or 3, you're in for trouble."

D'Onofrio says Porter had his best game vs. Duke: "I know you guys are looking at me like ... but the ball didn't get run through his gap."

#Canes DC Mark D'Onofrio: "At the end of the day, When we have the right call, we've got to execute. ... We need some guys to make a play."

Golden on why he picked 3-4 multiple: “We didn’t have a bunch of defensive linemen. Had more LBs and more guys like McCord, hybrid guys."

that gif consistanly delivers.

While I didn't get to hear the context yet in which this was asked and answered, if we want to do a little "reading between the lines" here, this does not sound like something that a person confident in their current scheme would say.

Rather than say "we're running this because its what we want to do here and what we're building towards", which is what most of us here are convinced of, Golden answered that by implying they were compelled to go this route by personnel.

Could be meaningless of course, but interesting nonetheless.
