this game is starting to feel like last year's game vs. uf

They have one of the best corners in cfb. This is the type of game I watch to measure where we are. Every time I mope I only think about if we can compete with the best teams that specific year. I see their rosters and say to myself “nah we not there we need more”

We on the right path to compete but we really need to get more dominant HS recruits. This game will be won in the middle for both teams. Center and Guards and DTs is where this game will be won or lost.

I don’t expect us to contain there run game fully. Unless we made a huge leap which is unrealistic. We can still win but it will be both run games, and for some reason our run designs be basic asf. I just want to see us look like we belong early and win the game. We win this game depending how it looks it means we have arrived
The QB situation has to count for something, no?

What is Ash’s reputation as a DC? I am only familiar with him as a ****** HC.
Remember him being an awful HC while I was at Rutgers lol think he coached at OSU before RU and had a great defense. Kinda forgot about dude.

22. Carson Beck, Miami

Beck's performance dropped off in 2024 before a season-ending elbow injury in the SEC Championship Game. He missed spring practice and has an unproven group of receivers that he's only recently begun to develop chemistry with. Opening against a nasty Notre Dame defense will do Beck no favors in the quest to regain his 2023 form.

Yea but I’m still in the mode of….was it UGAs roster that season? Then the guys left to the nfl and they got worse and the qb got worse. I never believed in Beck when he was at UGA, him being a cane doesn’t change my mind. I think he’s good enough but will make mistakes. But it’s better than what’s on the roster by a long margin. I have to see it to believe it, Beck has mostly everything here to do well.

yet they saying how he's gonna open up the passing game ... similar to how mertz was gonna open the gates passing game ... **** and mertz had more legit numbers behind him than this guy
Not saying what will happen or not, but CJ is a million times better than Mertz. No question. Now Lagway? Thats a closer comparison.

facts, guys left for the nfl ... but this really happened last year

How do you feel about ND's lockdown corners vs. our unproven WR?
That's the matchup that makes me uneasy.

Yeah me too.

Pessimistic view is their DBs are much better than our WRs and we’re going to really struggle to throw the ball, and if Beck starts to press, it could get ugly.

Optimistic view is our receivers are talented, albeit young, and will be able to have some success, plus the OL will be able to give Beck more time than usual and I don’t care how good you are, you can’t cover for 5+ seconds.

I’m with you though, it’s definitely a big key to the game.

UF stunk. I said it all offseason and it was obvious early.

Notre Dame is a much more legitimate operation.

What BS. Unless Beck could play both tackle positions UGA wasn’t winning. Did you see the game???

Is Hard Rock Stadium still going to have that stupid DJ turn music UP when the Miami quarterback steps forward to call signals? Or is that no longer a thing? I swear I read about this last season.

I get weird vibes from this ND team. They’re good, no doubt. But I think they’re anointing themselves in the national title game. They’re starting a QB that’s never thrown a college pass on the road (that’s a big f’in deal!). Just because they were very good last year doesn’t mean it’ll translate this year. A lot of ND people are looking past Miami. Very dangerous thing to do.

Where are you getting this from? I don't think anyone is looking past Miami and I haven't seen one post on any ND board saying we're going to be in the natty.

We know we have a really good team - nothing wrong with that. Yes, QB is a massive question mark, especially in his first start in a hostile environment, but we also have valid reason to believe we don't need him to win this game. He can lose it, sure, but he doesn't need to light the world on fire to win.

Anyone thinking Miami wins big in this game is delusional. Same for ND. This game is a big boy fight.

Utter nonsense. Best of luck on Sunday. Sounds like you're gonna need it since you're already at the "well, ackshully we don't need a QB to win on the road in the year 2025" stage of cope

Sure, but simply from a statistical view point, we out gained every opponent we played last year. Meanwhile, ND found ways to win games they shouldn't have won. Louisville and USC were 2 games that jump out.

Let's not lose the turnover battle or give them something easy on special teams. We win if we don't beat ourselves.
I’d like to add that we NEED to slow down their RBs & MAKE their QB Carr beat us on 2nd & 3rd & Longs
