this game is starting to feel like last year's game vs. uf

Billy boy is a corch. Freeman isn’t. They have wrinkles on specials and play good situational football.

They have talent at all spots. Ufag literally didn’t except for a couple guys.

Gotta exploit the matchups. Their corners are talented especially Moore. Need lofton, bauman, Lyle and Fletcher to get involved through the air
 
I don't expect this game to look anything like the UF game last year. We need to be ready for things like Love being flexed out to the slot for screens and such. It will be all short quick passes for Carr.

Well if there is one person I want this game relying on having an elite performance, it's Bain. You tell me we need a good Bain performance to win, and I'm taking that all year long.

Jojo I would only be questioning cause he's coming off injury week 1. All year I believe in him for sure
 
I think ND is better than UF last year by a good bit. They're better than UF at almost every position group. However, we have home field this time.

My main concern with this years team is a DT and LB. Moten, Scott, and Blay are going to have to show up. Our LB's still scare the **** out of me. I can just picture a repeat of GT were ND is just steady marching down the field averaging 5 yards a pop.

They have one of the best corners in cfb. This is the type of game I watch to measure where we are. Every time I mope I only think about if we can compete with the best teams that specific year. I see their rosters and say to myself “nah we not there we need more”

We on the right path to compete but we really need to get more dominant HS recruits. This game will be won in the middle for both teams. Center and Guards and DTs is where this game will be won or lost.

I don’t expect us to contain there run game fully. Unless we made a huge leap which is unrealistic. We can still win but it will be both run games, and for some reason our run designs be basic asf. I just want to see us look like we belong early and win the game. We win this game depending how it looks it means we have arrived

While our running game is a strength so is their linebacker and db play. If they slow our running game down we better hope we can counter by slowing down theirs. The RB play and oline they have is legit & stopping it relies entirely on our front 7. If we have any issues with that it's gonna be a long long day. I know ND is strong in the trenches which usually travels well..... As long as you don't have a QB taking his first snap. False starts, blitz pickups, confusion, seeing ghosts, etc.

If Miami can hold them to 3rd and 5 and longer, it's imperative we get them off the field.

Win the turnover battle! Punting is ok.

Let's not act like ND were world beaters last year. They are solid, but they are due to get folded
 
2022 - 7th ranked class
2023 - 12th ranked class
2024 - 9th ranked class
2205 - 12th ranked class

ND is a good team. Freeman is a good coach. They'll play hard, be well coached, and be a formidable challenge. But let's not pretend like we're playing against the Philadelphia Eagles here.

Should be fun. Can't wait.

They'll run on us. If we can limit big pass plays and giving up 3rd and longs we have a shot.

Are you sure? I keep hearing this, but it’s hard to wash losing at home to NIU off IMO. Lost to Marshall in his first year and in ‘23 his ranked wins were Duke, L’ville and USC. Then they beat Oregon St in a bowl.
In ‘24 his ranked wins were Ta&m, L’ville, Army and Navy.
I think he’s fools gold.

This is a good ND Team, but the only scenario where we run away from it is if we score early and often. What I mean is, if we’re going into the 2Q up 14-0 or 17-7 (just an example not exact), ND’s gonna need to open up their passing game and rely on Carr. Slow and plodding won’t work if Miami’s O is having success.

I think we have the QB to keep up if we got behind. I don’t believe they do at this moment.

i never underestimated nd ... i just think we match up far better than most think ... the situation is similar to us going into the uf game where others felt we were out manned
