These people belong in jail

I like college football better than the NFL. It’s not because they have better bands. It’s the best regular season in sports and they are killing it because of greed.
i like it better too for those reasons- tell me how you want all the players paid what they deserve without killing other sports without added revenue

and other college football has more than 4 teams and has had fan growth for years. different opinion

8 should have been the max, 6 is perfect to me. Leaves room for upsets even if it doesn’t happen every year

But at this point if its only 4-8 do we trust them to not just say F every other conference besides the 2 big money makers? Don’t think it should be expanded but if its less teams the sec/big10 favoritism will get even worse

I disagree with that, especially with the parity we see in the new ERA. OSU wouldn’t even have been in it.
Ohio State shouldn't have been in the playoffs. They lost to Oregon, lost to Michigan, and didn't even play in the conference title game. When the regular season is the eliminator, that should be enough to knock them out of contention.

But in retrospect, those games were meaningless. The 12-team playoff neuters the regular season.

Who should’ve been. Take your 4 team approach, who.

I like 8 personally but the more important factor is how the playoff teams are selected

Make a transparent, mathematical formula so that everyone can see where teams are at.

Get rid of the politicking, propaganda and petitioning for this team or that.

If I'm the boss of college football?

The four highest-ranked conference champions or independents.
Aren't the majority of porsters saying the ranking system is biased towards SEC and B1G?

Since they are the gate keepers for who is in and who is out, the $$$$$ players will argue SEC + B1G #2/#3 exceed anyone else's #1. The SEC + B1G have one singular mission each: advance the interest of the SEC + B1G. The $$$$$ players have one singular mission each: achieve highest ROI possible.

So until those problems are solved [SEC + B1G most favored nation status], the only way to guarantee its settled on the field is a larger field.

If you're the boss of college football, day 0 you eliminate the conferences as theybl are anti-thetical to the spirit and intent of competition amongst all college football.

So Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, Boise?

Notre Dame gets in because they don’t play in a conference despite losing to NIU and having their best wins be against service academies, Boise gets in with their best wins being against UNLV, but Arizona State and Clemson are ****ed despite winning major conferences?

Less playoff spots than conferences is asinine, and only what people want because it’s always been that way. And with unbalanced conference schedules it’s even more ridiculous.

They should have Big Ten, SEC, ACC and ND inter Conference mandated games as part of the regular season schedule

Every season Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan, ND, etc even Miami should have to play non Conference games against the supposed top tiers from the other top Conferences

Penn St shouldnt be playing Villanova, Nevada this season but instead an LSU, Clemson in the regular season

At lease this season Ohio St plays Texas, ND plays Miami. There needs to be more of that

In a world that actually makes sense, it goes like this:

Ohio State gets eliminated when they lose to their rival, Michigan. They already lost to Oregon in a hyped game that ended up meaning nothing. Our current stupid system sapped those games of any importance.

Texas gets eliminated when they lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship. That’s a playoff game.

Penn State gets eliminated when they lose to Oregon in the Big 10 Championship. That’s a playoff game.

Miami gets eliminated when we lose to Syracuse.

Clemson gets eliminated when they lose their second game to an SEC opponent.

Tennessee, SMU, Arizona State and Indiana are never seriously in the picture.

The regular season and championships should be the real playoffs. But some people want to watch the NFL with worse players. It’s a disgrace.

Yup

Plus, last season the Committee then gave Ohio St a playoff home game becasue all we heard was how great it would be for southern teams to play a game in the north

Ohio St manipulates so much in private and the NCAA has always given them pull

Ohio St had no business being included once they lost a really bad game at home to Michigan when under pre tournament rules they would be out then they even got a home game

Penn St even got a home game

The Michigan game basically never happened

Plus if Miami was elimnated after losing its last game to Cuse, shouldnt Ohio have been as well afte rlosing its second game th elast week of the regular season

So why is Notre Dame in the picture but not, say, Indiana. Because they don’t play in a conference?

Nobody wants it to be the nfl. The difference between the nfl and college isn’t the lack of subjectivity. The big difference that they DO need to stop ******* with is the deep rooted regional rivalries. Which the proposed super league addressed.

If Notre Dame is the sole issue, put them in a conference. I’m not too concerned about them getting in the playoffs in this scenario because they went 11-1 and were clearly one of the four best teams.
