MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

Would’ve been sick if we didn’t call 15 straight runs up the middle and would have beat ND by a couple scores. This conversation would be a lot different if the final score was 27-10
nobody wanted to hear that in September. Just a lot of hiding behind a W. Never mind they had ball in hand with the chance to win after being dominated much of the game on the field. Same with UF. Should have beat the brakes off them but they had ball in hand to take the lead in the 4th after being dominated on the field. Same with FSU, an onside kick from a chance to walk it off. Then **** ourselves in conference. Nobody to blame but ourselves.

That is wild. They give us no chance head to head if Miami is at ~12 and ND is at 10.

Honestly, that’s probably mispriced. I know they will almost certainly take ND over us, but -4000 is wild.

They could make it -50000000. Literally the only reason they even have odds is because they have 2 games to play and losing 1 knocks them out. But they’re the 2 worst P4 teams in America. The people saying ND was done after the A&M game are beyond help.

ND is in with 2 wins against 2 high school teams. Thats a literal, written in blood fact.

Auburn will get destroyed by bama

TrumpyCane disagrees for a few reasons

1. Bama isn't that good
2. Auburn defense is nasty (Vandy game was a mirage)
3. It's in auburn where Bama has struggled mightily the last 4 times they've played, 2 wins by a combined 5 points and 2 losses
4. This is literally auburn's superbowl, they essentially have 3 weeks to prepare for this and they would love nothing but to knock them off
5. If Auburn wins Durkin gets that job

Don’t think the committee will want another FSU bruhaha like last year so we’ll see. IF we can win out I'm optimistic.
lol what brouhaha? FSU fans being upset doesn’t matter to anyone but FSU fans. Besides, FSU was an undefeated conference champ, we are neither of those things.

Last year they had 3 loss bama in front of 2 loss Miami. They already told us what happens to a 2 loss Miami.

I don't think there's any way a 2-loss Vandy gets in over 2-loss Miami.

THIS IS A TV SHOW

it's why FSU got left out in 2023. Nobody wanted to watch them in there with their garbage backup QB.

People can talk about "SEC bias." That doesn't apply to Vandy. No one cares about them.

Never forget that this is a TV show.

The main teams we need to be concerned about are Bama and OU. One of them needs to lose another game.

They need to stop acting like they give a **** about these G5 teams lol We all know those games will be blowouts 9 times out of 10. **** probably even higher. Should only be the top 4 highest ranked champs to actually make the G5 team earn the right to play with the big boys. Boise last year had no shot at winning a playoff game and there isnt a G5 team this year that is as good as they were last year. We really need to see JMU or UNT lose by 30+?

Oh I remember. I was a “mope” who got told to be happy with winning and nothing else matters after every game that was closer than it needed to be. Well here we are and it turns out the mopes were right again.

Bama is 100% guaranteed to be in.

The other team will be Oklahoma or Vanderbilt.

To think any differently is to deny reality.

Bama isn’t 100% guaranteed to be in. They still have to play auburn. Yes, they’ll be favored. No, it wouldn’t be in the top 100 of craziest upsets.

Bama at 10-2 is 100% guaranteed in. Absolutely. But they’re only -280 to make the playoff now, whereas ND is -4000. The reason is Bama has to play a tram with athletes. ND has to play middle school teams.

Bama’s L fvcked us point blank, OU would’ve been donezo but now they’re in our place unless they drop a game to Mizzou/LSU. Gotta hope for that, Iron bowl win by auburn or ACC carnage at the end..

Imagine the commitee can somehow have Miami face UGA 1st round of the playoffs

TrumpyCane thinks they'll make up a brand new rule for that to happen, the amount of eyeballs on that game

Utah and BYU arent better than Georgia Tech,Miami,Virginia. My comment has nothing to do with Miami losing games. It’s just saying the Big 12 is the weakest power 4 conference
Utah and BYU are far better than GT and UVA. They'd both be 7+ point favorites vs them. GT and UVA have been two of the luckiest teams in the country.

The ref show has been blatant and obvious in every close SEC game where a highly ranked team played a **** one. You’re out of your mind if you think this won’t be the most egregious. It’s gonna be the entire ESPN and SEC machine vs Auburn that night. It’ll take nothing less than an act of god for Auburn to win.

Some of our fans still believe we would be in over a 2 loss Bama. Guess they forgot last year that a 3 loss Bama (with a terrible loss at OU near end of season) was going to be in over a 2 loss Miami if Clemson didn't beat SMU in the ACCCG.
The distinction here is that Bama had way better wins than we did last year. The huge difference for us this year, which is why we're still firmly in the discussion, is that we have solid wins.

Bama has an arguably better win than Miami with UGA. However, we have a common opponent in FSU. We beat them, Bama got pummeled by them week 1. So yes, there's a good chance that 10-2 Miami gets in over 10-3/9-3 Bama.
