Well, well.... conference supporting the Canes

Necessary when ESPN is putting out 🐂 💩 like this

Zero mention of our win over ND or Alabama’s and Texas’s losses to our Tallahassee little brother and Gainesville nephew. USF wasn’t ranked in the top 25 when we beat them so it doesn’t really matter. Not to mention the fact that USC winning over Oregon should be irrelevant, and actually beneficial, to us considering the fact that ND beat USC.

I am literally hour to hour on this. Today was a little more cynical. I do not think we are making it unfortunately.
This is pretty much where I am although i need to see how all this movement shakes up the game. Not optimistic at all.

I am thinking there may be a large enough public backlash if Vandy/BYU/Utah/Bama/ND are all ranked ahead of us. That may be our saving grace.

Notre Dame (and a lot of the CFB world) believes they’re responsible for all the ratings for our game with them that night. I’ve seen dozens and dozens of comments about this over the season.

And obviously, yes, they are a huge ratings draw with the big games. But so are we, as shown by the rest of our games. It just amazes me how no one gives us any credit for anything.

Another reason why I would caution about dropping them from the schedule though (I talked about this somewhere earlier tonight).. ratings $$$ We aren’t going to have many good games and hardly any exciting teams / rivals over the few years. FSU is it, and they suck. What is everyone supposed to get excited for, and tune in for?
Hate watching?

Oregon’s best win is a 18-16 nail-biter on the road against Iowa. Ohio State’s best win is their 14-7 season opener against UTexasAustin.

Last year, the committee made a big fuss; when asked; why 10-2 Miami below 9-3 Alabama? They said record vs teams above .500 was their deciding factor; at least justification wise. Alabama was 6-1; Miami was 4-2.

Alabama was 3-1 against teams currently in the top 25. Miami was 0-1. Ole Miss was 2-0. South Carolina was 3-2. Alabama had beaten USCe. Ole Miss beat USCe so their extra current ranked win didn’t matter. Miami beat UF who beat Ole Miss so $€©️ didn’t matter. The committee honed in on a 7-4, then 8-4 LSU team as the difference maker in putting ‘Bama above the other two. The fact that Ole Miss beat OU who beat Bama didn’t matter.

USCe lost to: ‘Bama, Ole Miss, and LSU
Ole Miss lost to: LSU, a 4 win UK team, and UF
Bama lost to: Tennessee, Vandy, OU

Wow i forgot how wild last year’s finish was. So ****** glad Clemson kicked Bama outta the pool. This did just make me more cynical about our chances tho.

Week 12: We were ranked 9th; 9-1, and Alabama was 10th; 7-2. Ole Miss 11th at 7-2.

Week 13: Alabama jumps us after beating LSU; ‘Bama 7th; Miami 8th. Ole Miss 9th. NOTEWORTHY: SMU is ranked 13th over BYU at 14 {Both 9-1; SMU’s only loss is to BYU; BYU lost to Kansas at this point}

Week 14: Alabama loses to OU. Miami at 10-1 is 6th; 9-2 Clemson is 12th; 8-3 ‘Bama is 13th. Ole Miss & USCe 14th and 15th.

So it’s pretty arbitrary when h2h and common opponents count; by arbitrary I mean bigger brands are favored. However, it should feel like it’s life or death tonight because it really looks that way.

Kinda outstanding how UGA beating Tennessee uplifted them but South Carolina beating Clemson had them stuck lmao. Bama’s late loss matters less than everyone else’s. Hilariously hypocritical; Clemson at 9-2 with a 31 point loss to UGA to start the year off is still ranked above ‘Bama at 8-3; who beat UGA. But losing to a ranked USCe is enough to drop them 5 spots but keep USCe stuck af. And us losing to a ranked Syracuse puts us below Bama but above Ole Miss/USCe still.

And we know how the story ends. Alabama this year is basically Ohio State last year. Bama (OSU) isn’t going to get punished for losing to FSU (Michigan); because they beat UGA + Vandy (IU + PSU) and played OU (Oregon) close. OU this year is basically UGA last year w/ losses to Ole Miss/UT being UGA’s losses to Ole Miss/Bama.

I never hear any of this 🐂 💩 about HoW cOmmE bYu aand ALaBaMMa CaNt JUsssT bE CoNsISteNt?!?! BYU beat SMU early on but ended up losing 2 of the last 3; leaving them outta the CCG.

Green & orange shades + kool aid take: Clemson went from #23 in the initial rankings up to #12 after three straight wins to go to 9-2 from 6-2. Just like us, they lost to Louisville. They moved up from 17 to 12 after beating a trash College of Charleston team. This is our best case scenario; historical equivalent. Bad News: when Clemson made that jump; the three teams in front of them — BYU, A&M, and Colorado — 14 thru 16; all lost the previous week. Ole Miss was #9 and dropped to #14 after losing to UF. But the key structure Miami-A

Despite all this talk about GT’s last game against UGA or Texas against A&M or Vandy against Tennessee, it should be noted that South Carolina was still behind Bama, Miami, and Ole Miss after beating Clemson in the final week. So ….. idk why the media is gassing up these late season games now.

Chat; i think we’re cooked. We need Trump to step in.

The committee's logic last year was to punish Miami for having a harder ACC schedule than Clemson; and fault Miami for not knowing UF would have a down year.

Clemson was 1-1, soon to be 1-2, against teams with records above .500; when they were 9-2 and ranked, 12th, ahead of a 13th, 8-3 Alabama. Their best wins, in the end, were against 7 win and 6 win Pittsburgh and NC State teams.

It’s all voodoo vibes and nonsense. They will keep searching for metrics to justify their pretextual position. They are already scores away from how they graded the teams last year. We are straight up being penalized because FSU and Clemson suck while UVA & GT are good.

We love Saban and Dabo disciples; except the 3 on top of the ACC right now.

This **** really is the most insane thing I've ever seen. I plugged in some results, and it had UVA 1st, SMU 2nd, and us 3rd.

I changed *one* game, flipping the Cal vs Stanford game. I originally had Cal winning, I changed it to Stanford winning.

That put Miami up to #2.

What an insane way this is to live.

But I guess, for this weekend, we would like:

Pitt to beat GT (No brainer)
Louisville to beat SMU
UNC to beat Duke
Stanford to beat Cal
NC State to beat FSU (we played both but UVA only played FSU in conference, the NCSU game was OOC)

Pretty much correct. Pitt has to beat Ga Tech, and Duke has to lose to one of Wake or UNC, and SMU has to lose to one of Cal or Louisville.

OPs analysis is pretty much right
Duke does not have to lose. But Duke winning both is the worst outcome that doesn't knock us out completely.
