MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

This **** really is the most insane thing I've ever seen. I plugged in some results, and it had UVA 1st, SMU 2nd, and us 3rd.

I changed *one* game, flipping the Cal vs Stanford game. I originally had Cal winning, I changed it to Stanford winning.

That put Miami up to #2.

What an insane way this is to live.

But I guess, for this weekend, we would like:

Pitt to beat GT (No brainer)
Louisville to beat SMU
UNC to beat Duke
Stanford to beat Cal
NC State to beat FSU (we played both but UVA only played FSU in conference, the NCSU game was OOC)

This was over the minute SMU got the turnover in overtime.

UM making the playoff would take a bigger miracle than the time that guy in a dress walked on water.

I would be happy to be wrong, but I am pretty sure I’m not.

Miami should just leave the ACC and play fcs teams every week at this point. Head-to-head and top 10 wins apparently don’t matter anymore. Also how is GT only at 2%? Aren’t they the favorites to win the ACC?

From the Athletic: USC is now projected to jump us

ESPN just put out a video in an effort to stave off the "Miami beat Notre Dame" data point.

Their debate was, "Miami beat Notre Dame, Notre Dame beat USC, and USC beat Oregon."

Establishment shills doing what establishment shills do...

Miami beat FSU who beat Bama. Miami beat Florida who beat Texas.

We need our heavy hitter to be making noise.

Miami beat Florida who beat Texas who beat OU who beat Bama (who also lost to FSU) who beat Vandy. We should be ahead of all of them. Bad losses only matter for Miami, and I would contend losing to FSU is a MUCH worse loss than UL or SMU. Same argument will be "It was opening weekend" to really make those games not matter in the least.

Said it last year and will continue to beat this dead horse until we're out of the ACC - it's P2 or bust. The longer we hang around in this dying conference the more years we'll be watching the playoffs from home while teams with equivalent records and resumes jump us.

Unfortunately it’s correct. If the ACC only gets 1 team in, we need to be out… everyone looking to chump us despite an otherwise great year

I'm going to keep posting this.

Exactly one year ago the committee moved Alabama up one spot (jumping only us) while we were on a bye. Alabama beat Mercer 52-7.

We just beat NC State 41-7. Vanderbilt, who is ranked 1 spot ahead of us, was on a bye.

Does the committee at least put us ahead of Vanderbilt?

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned as much. This doesn’t surprise me at all. It’s a “good” ranked win late in the season.

How is beating a now 6-4 and surely unranked Iowa team, at home, by 5 in a game where Iowa was on your 30 yard line with 2 minutes to go a "good" win. I mean, it's not bad. Iowa is OK. But enough to jump over 2 teams who won? USC was 2 spots below us last week, they came back to beat a 6-4 team at home, we beat a 5-5 team by 100. Both 8-2. USC has wins over Michigan (good), Montana State, GA Southern, Purdue, Michigan State, at Nebraska (not bad, Raiola did get hurt), Northwestern, and now Iowa. Jumping them up from 17 to 13 while Miami is 14 is insane.

Don’t agree w/ it, just wouldn’t surprise me one bit. And if it does happen, we can basically wrap all this **** up. Cause even if/when SC loses this weekend, yeah they’ll fall right back behind us (assuming we win), but them jumping us after beating Iowa (if it happens), would say more about how they view us.

I fear Narduzzi absolutely sunk the psyche of this Pitt team. He thought those pathetic comments would take the pressure off his team, but all it did was a) make them fold earlier than they would have to get blown out by ND and b) now put even MORE pressure on this GT game against a GT team that isn’t that good but has a ton of mental fortitude.

I liked Pitt’s chances against GT prior to those comments. Now I can see a ****ed off GT pummeling a “playing scared” Pitt, which sucks for us.

But again, we did it to ourselves (the official motto of the Miami Hurricanes).

Oh for sure. We're pretty much already wrapped it up, if we're behind SC tonight just throw a bow on that ****. They absolutely hate our resume if that's the case.
