MEGA [THERAPY SESSION] Cam Ward Fumble Some Anonymous MEGA THREAD

In Cam’s defense his offensive line ranked 124th in pass blocking 😬 yikes, and 95th in run blocking at Washington state. Our Oline was ranked 17th!!! In pass blocking, 22nd!!! In run blocking, so yeah let’s start there.

really since Van Dyke didn't cost us some games with his turnovers?

Nah bro. Theyre not even in the same stratosphere. **** them stats. We watched Tyler throw at least 10 of his interceptions with a CLEAN POCKET. Saw this man take a sack from the ghost of Reggie White.

We're not going to even entertain this narrative your trying to push because it doesnt fit and its lazy, at best.

Now that we have our Qb1 it is important to know what will be done to improve this stat or we will be in the exact same situation as last year with TVD as QB. Ward had 21 “turnover-worthy plays,” according to Pro Football Focus. That was the 12th-most, nationally, and fifth-most among Power 5 quarterbacks. The stat includes potential interceptions and potential fumbles.
34 posts in 8 years and this is what you're going with?

Our season went to sht because of chaneys fumble
Then tvd throwing picks
Cam ward has fumbled 48 times
That’s almost 2 a game
How realistic is it to cut that down to 5 or less??

Keep in mind Ward ran the 2nd most plays of any QB in CFB last year. He had the 5th most passing attempts in the Nation, and 23rd most rushing attempts of all Qbs. So that's like <3% Turnover worthy Play rate still. And we know he had like 11 Fumbles I think it was. Fumbles are mostly going to fully count as turnover worthy plays by PFF - whereas INTs (and non-ints) are more subjective to fault. So They're basically saying he had lets say 8-11 ish turnover worthy passes On 485 passes. That's (1.6-2.2% int rate)... So it's pretty good. Plus we know over the last 2 years Ward has 982 Passing Attempts and 16 actual Interceptions. That's 1.63% Int rate - so its consistent with the actual stats. Very good.

We all know the fumble numbers are really the key with Ward this upcoming year. But unless his hands are very small this is something our OLine and just him being smart can absolutely improve for him. Him not trying to be superman behind a terrible OL is going to be the most important thing. But we can also run a lot of drills to really get him to work on him tucking the ball, and sliding to avoid contact when pulling the trigger to run... I actually would be more interested in how many Big time throws PFF says Ward had. I think that's the number he really needs to increase. He really didn't throw too many TDs in 23. At Incarnate World he had a TD rate of almost 8%, whereas at WSU his TD rate was at ~5%.

Basically: if he is smart and doesn't turn it over, he won't turn it over as much....

Lmao WTF is a potential fumble? Either you did or you didn’t. If he was the tenth most sacked QB in America of course he is going to be tops in fumbles. Basic knowledge here. TVD was sacked only 10 times (one was by no one 😂) and in total we had 16 sacks allowed which is tied for 13th. That automatically cuts down this problem. He won’t be running for his life here.
