Well ****...
Initially, I thought Jack or NKosi would be the starter back in February, then as Spring camp took place it seemed like Shirreffs or Rosier were the leaders.
I never believed in Rosier, I knew he simply didn't have the arm talent to be a starting QB at Miami & I still stand by that.
Then, all of the sudden Shirreffs became "the guy", so I honestly tried to convince myself that he could end up the QB, but the talk of him being just a game manager legit worried me, because I don't trust that can be enough to win tough road games if by chance you happen to get down by a score or two in the 1st half.
Now, it appears as though that a lot of what we were hearing coming from Spring could've just been misdirection.
One thing for certain is, Ima just trust my instincts on this one lol. Idk who the starter will be come September, but I know it better be someone who isn't afraid to make a big time throw down the field in crunch time, cause a simple checkdown artist isn't gonna win us the Coastal.
This new info of Shirreffs being propped up to keep the fans from imploding truly changes everything. I'm feeling vindicated right about now because I said it was going to be Jack all the way.
I know Chise, I know... Your sarcasm doesn't fall on deaf ears my friend.
Your point about Shirreffs is both correct & smart, I don't disagree with it, I just don't believe that we're guaranteed a 10 win season with him at the helm, nor do I necessarily believe that he gives us the best chance to win in a Win now season.
You're the Living Legend & you'll probably be proven right come Fall, I'm just saying I don't think it's impossible for Jack or Kosi to be the starter.
I'll say it again, friend. None of the QBs guarantees us anything. Fly in the ointment with Perry is that there's no way he's going to be comfortable running Rick's offense in a month of fall practice unless he's a total savant. I'd hate to see us rush him and set him back.
****, it used to be standard even in the NFL to sit 1st round QBs for a year or two and let them get comfortable before starting them. And they had unlimited practice time. Steve McNair sat for two years. The reason behind it was that they didn't want to rush a young QB because you could do unfixable long term damage to his confidence by throwing him out there before he was ready.
We'll see what happens. I actually hope you're right because that will mean that Perry is super smart and a savant. He's clearly a better talent than the guys we have. All I know is that the theory that Rick is giving Evan the most reps to keep the fans from imploding is clown ****. He's getting the reps because Rick thinks he's the best option right now. Of course, that can change in the blink of an eye. We shall see.
