Rosier is a gamer. I don't think he's a good practice player. I like his mobility and arm strength. He has a solid TE, the Best RB in the ACC, and a top 10 defense in the country.

Not to mention Ahmmon Richards at WR, with Jeff Thomas (desean jackson clone). He will be fine. Sherrifs is solid as well.

The schedule is super weak this year.

Love this one!
So is anyone else worried about our dline recruits we have left?
All are 3 Talents, this number one class isn't going to last long with all the 3 stars. Maybe still top 5 after all them.
I trust Kools evaluation of their talents. I like Chatman and Silvera don't get me wrong.
But where are the top tier recruits on that side of the ball. Besides the CB's and S's it doesn't look great.
Maybe I'm over reacting or missing something.

You are overreacting and definitely missing something.

Yeah. Kirby was a nervous mess. His hands actually shook like Michael J. Fox when he played. He started that game against NC State and completed something like 3 passes for 14 yards in 4 quarters. There's never been a QB here that bad. Kirby takes the cake by a mile.

Malik started 1 game and played pretty **** good. He should be even better now 2 years later with better coaches shouldn't he?

By logic yes. But he played average against duke... That was one of our more embarrassing moments where we needed a horribly illegal 13 lateral or whatever to beat ****in duke for God's sake. Malik is the definition of a nonfactor. Kirby had a few games similar to that. A high four star out of Texas. What a miserable evaluation that was.

I don't remember that Duke game that way. I'm pretty sure Duke was favored in that game.

And Kirby certainly never had any games anywhere near as good as the one Malik played against Duke. Kirby's one moment here was the desperation heave into the end zone against FSU when he was so scared that his hands were visibly trembling like Michael J Fox.

I don't care about favorites, dukes record, where they finished in the acc... NOTHING. All i care about is that game was a glaring example to the nation (& plenty of other games too)of what a joke our program had become. There is never any legit reason why we should need a last second play to beat a school that is good for nothing but basketball, rape & lacrosse. I think David cutliffe is a great coach. Regardless of that they are what they are & that's horribly inferior. Just my opinion but it ain't gonna change.

I agree that our program was a joke and that we should never lose to Duke. That doesn't have anything to do with the conversation though.

The question is, not the program we should have been, but the program we actually were in that forlorn week.

And who were we the week after that 58-0 assraping at the hands of Clemson? We were a downtrodden, defeated, aimless team with horrible coaching, and a bunch of players all pulling in different directions.

Yes we had talent in 2015, but it was talent that was poorly coached, probably with many players that didn't give a shīt anymore, and many more that were just weighed down psychologically by the negativity surrounding the program.

Add to all those distractions, the head coach was just fired on the Monday of that week, and then to top it off probably your best defensive player had his mother die. I believe we were 7 to 10 point underdogs or more that week.

Many, probably most here thought we were going to get trampled by Duke.

So no, no Miami Hurricane team should ever fear or be an underdog to Duke. But back then we weren't a good Miami Hurricane team, we weren't even a below average Miami Hurricane team, we were a pretty bad Miami Hurricane team.

Under those circumstances, Rosier did a good job, and we would've won that game outright had it not been for the multiple phantom passing interference calls, bad Duke touchdown call, and keeping in mind what kind of defense we had back then.

Again, right now I'm not saying he should or shouldn't be the starter, that's not going to be determined until August, late August. I'm just not buying this Rosier sucks he shouldn't be considered story. The little bit of data I have to go on doesn't make him look bad at all

Appreciate your insights, even though sometimes I don't necessarily see it your way.

This is one of those times.

There is no way that Rosier is anything close to Kirby. Not even close. He's only started one game, but that should be proof alone, all by itself.

Kirby had several games similar to his 1-18 game. Low single digit completions. If it'll make yall feel better since apparently every word only has a literal meaning ( my point was they both suck. That was the similarity I was emphasising) to make it a better literal equation okay I'll change it from Kirby Freeman 2.0 to Ryan Collins 2.0 (only the college version) feel better now... point still is he's irrelevant. What's interesting to me is if his one game would've been against an even serviceable defense what would yall consider him then...

OK

this thread delivers two of my favorite things on this site, Brooklyndee's input, and Franchise being a condescending ****.

Evan Shirreffs **** slobbing on this site is the most confusing phenomenon I've seen since joining. Gus Edwards obsession was a little ridiculous but I can kinda see the angle some of our fans took (dude was huge and would have productive springs).

Hard to say hes a gamer off of one game

It's very frustrating that no one is stepping up in that QB spot. I hear what Dee is saying, but what has Allison done to prove he's any better? From everything I read, he was terrible in the first scrimmage before putting together a few snaps that looked good right before he was injured. That's not promising. ... And while I accept that Richt is rotating which QB goes first, Allison was 4th behind even Testaverde in that scrimmage, and Weldon sat out.

So I think it's fair to say Richt considered the two leaders to be Sherriffs and Rosier. From what I read through the tea leaves, Shirreffs distinguished himself enough through that scrimmage to be considered the leder, then fell back to earth with a bad 2nd scrimmage. Unless someone makes a major move on Saturday, you can bet that Perry will be right in the mix when he steps on campus in a month. And that's really disappointing considering we have 4 scholarship QBs on campus right now.

Thing is we really don't know how these qbs were actually performing in these practices. Dee has been to the practices. Who else here (or from what you read) has? Reporters haven't seen anything. And I do trust Pete, but Its not like he's said Allison is out of the race or anything, and its still not even the 3rd scrimmage of spring. This QB battle will go all the way to the end of july.

All we really have to go off of is the interviews. And its possible you or someone else who has seen all the interviews knows something I don't, but Richt never says who the qbs are that he's seen separation from. We also know from Richt that he doesn't believe Cade weldon was ready. And I think it's reasonable to assume Testaverde had no chance in ****. So from what i've hear of Richt it sounds like the battle is between Shireffs, Rosier, and Perry. Also I'll just add that imo, even if Rosier and Shireffs slightly outperform either Allison or Perry, they should not be given the job. They need to completely outplay them, otherwise it's in our best interest to go with one of the younger dudes who has more potential.
