The Sh*t is about to hit the fan for the NCAA

A lot of people here dont seem to realize that these kids are signing a contract. And in that contract could be anything. It could say that they forfeit their rights to profit off of their own image.

It's about putting the team and the schools image above your own image, and preventing things from getting out of hand.

It's not necessarily how I feel about it, but if you sign the contract, you're bound to it.

I still don't understand how a full ride scholarship, free housing, a monthly stipend to pay for whatever you want, and all the behind the scenes benefits aren't enough for some people. Unbelievable greed.

Extra money could be put into a profit-sharing program. If you stay the full 4 years, stay out of trouble, and graduate, you get an equal cut of those 4 years. Same with healthcare related to sports injuries.
I suppose you must also think Steve Jobs was greedy? How dare he succeed?!?!

You all are lost on the ‘contract’ topic. All the siznizzle about contract of adhesion aside, the NCAA claims to be a non-effin-profit. The who,e thing is a giant collusion scam. It’s bull**** as a matter of antitrust law, contract law and tax law.

Or a big market city with plenty of opportunities to capitalize on your likeness... such as, Idk, Miami.

These are the kind of conclusions people with very little life or work experience, and with poor listening and discernment skills, come up with.

The whole “big city/big market” theory has been effectively refuted. It must take someone with very little knowledge of how CFB works, vis-a-vis booster networks, to stubbornly cling to such a brain-dead theory.

What you talking about Willis... it's all bullshiit dude... no way Jose!
Immigration is an act. The words illegal and legal each describe that act - as unlawful or lawful - but it’s still an act either way. It’s still immigration, it’s just a matter of it being lawful or not. Just because the way the act/event occurs isn’t lawful, doesn’t delete the fact that the act/event in fact occurred.

Holy crap dude I was only kidding, lol

Paying players would be nice. When players begin to make money off their own likeness, it will destroy CFB. A lot of the business minded players will simply flock to colleges with a high fan base and/or merchandise sales.

Good. That benefits Miami.

They will flock to the cities with the most agents: Miami and Los Angeles.

Lol no. God blessed me by placing me in the south.

So basically ur assumptions about California has no merit. It’s fine to keep ur opinion about God blessing you by placing you in The South. Personally I hope to retire one day in The South; but U speaking on my state w/o living in my state has ur post inaccurate af. Don’t let the media fool u

I see comments from several of you concerning Cali...I wonder if any of you live here or have ever lived here. I currently live in San Diego, here are the objective list of Pros/Cons:

Pros:
- Weather
- Pay
- College Football Comes on at 9am
- Car ride away from the ocean, desert, mountains, Vegas, wine country
- Decently looking women

Cons:

- Fires due to climate/droughts

I'm sure there are more in either category, but this was a quick take on my behalf

The cons seem to outweigh the pros for me. Think i'll keep my happy *** in the Sunshine State

Been to California more times that I can remember. Top to bottom it’s one of the most beautiful states in the country - where else can you be in Venice Beach one day, El Capitan another day, and even your town San Diego is absolutely gorgeous, nice climate beautiful views etc.

Also have friends and many business acquaintances from all over Cali.

To a man, the biggest complaints are real estate prices, taxes, and cost of living. So much so, that people making well into 6 figures can barely afford to live there. I mean well into six figures. And if you do manage to have a half decent lifestyle, you’re not saving any money. You’re practically paycheck to paycheck.

I don’t know how the middle class can save or invest anything there.

I know everyone is preoccupied with the **** in cities and homeless issue..as well as immigration, and no doubt these are major issues, but from people I know there, affordability of day-to-day life is the major issue that impacts them on a daily basis.

I can tell u that I’ve personally witnessed ICE take down workers from across my job, PRIOR to Trump being in office.

I can tell you, outside of SF and it’s surrounding areas, most Californians don’t believe in Socialism.

The Debt is true, which is y the housing market and gas tax is crazy right now trying to recover some of that.

U have to remember that CA is filled w ppl from all over the world & country. So yes, there are many who are Rainbow children, but there are many who are staunch conservatives as well.

As OCCC said in his post, you need to earn in the $160k's and above to have a decent quality of life on average. It is doable though for those with a double income. I have friends that are a married couple and both are Registered Nurses. They each make around $95k-$105k a year. They cap out at ~$200k a year for their household. They own a 3,800sqft home in wine country up in Temecula, California for around $510K. They both commute to San Diego for work so, their vehicle gas bill is high, but they have enough money to own property, go on vacations, and invest into retirement. Folks making $60k/year and single mostly live with roommates (Plural) and need to budget.

Theoretically good wages get canceled out by taxes and cost of living... so what you got left. Maybe peace of mind, happiness, weather and beauty... and priorities.
Do you love living in SD... or wherever. I don't love living in Miami, this town has changed too much... but there's a lot of places in the Sunshine State that are great, affordable and nice. To me the ocean/Gulf is important. But I'm retired and affordability is a big priority... will be looking to move soon.
The Cons you stated are deal breakers for me. I don't wake up early anymore so college gameday 12 noon is just fine, lol

Pretty redic that these "kids" can get paid to go kill people *and* get a free education, but the thought of them also earning money while getting a free education through football makes some people have a fit.

They're putting their health on the line to drive a massive business, and most won't ever see the NFL. Not too mention the "education" they're getting nowadays is artificially inflated and welllllll over valued in the market.
