The Ole Miss Thread

They are going to sell out to stop the run. Loaded boxes, pressures, aggressive/downhill LBs. The key will be being able to hit the quick throws that we did on Wednesday. Loosens up the box and opens up our run game. Then you can take your shots off play action. Thats when we were at our best against Louisville and SMU. As long as Carson doesn't turn it over, we can control the game.

I know nothing but I think he plays but what if Moten is out? Dude has been unreal and as big a part of the front

How do we repalce that? Its really just Blay and Scott and Moten has been the most productive

Because there was an entire discussion on this board during the game as to which team we should want to win.

Some said Ole Miss. The smarter of us said Ole Miss because they were better than UGA.

Cristobal is telling you that Ole Miss is the best team Miami will play this season.

So it helps answer that discussion.

The country is sleeping on how good our secondary is. And, I follow two teams for the most part, Miami and LSU (my alma mater). Miami’s defense, OL, and overall physicality hasn’t been seen in the SEC since Georgia was winning nattys. I don’t think Ole Miss will be ready for what’s coming.

Also, I saw someone say Trinidad is a taller Mike Vick. That’s wrong. Trinidad looks to be about 5-10 tops. I don’t care what he’s listed at. Several of Trinidad’s passes per game are batted down.

No. We will be able to run the ball against them. That doesn't mean we should try to make this an Edge vs UCLA game though. IMO, we will punt the ball more than we should, if Dawson's calls are very run heavy relative to what we have done the entire year. Our RROE is -4.8% this year, which means we have run ~5% less of the time than we were expected to given the downs, distances, and field position we faced.

Their offense is elite. Can we shut them down and hold them under 20 pts? Sure. If that's your baseline assumption going into the game, you're living in fantasy land.

We will need to put more points on the board than we have in either of our playoff games. We have averaged 29ppg against P4 foes this year. Ole Miss gives up a few more ppg than their opponents average against P4 defenses. Score 30+ and we win the game.

Yea I expect our offense to come back alive, Our #1 slot wr has been held in check last couple weeks.. 16 yards and 2 fumbles wont get it done.. I am a tempo guy since forever, the thing we HATE most is a ball control team that just melts the clock.. Impose our will and dictate the flow of the game.. pick up first downs, melt the clock, run the ball, Beck make smart decisions, and score TDs in redzone..
 
After the last six games, I think we will show up more prepared, focused and roll as a result. I think we will control the lines of scrimmage and take their desperation punches before pulling away by 14-17 late. I do not think we will see a Louisiville/SMU performance. To me, this is the game Beck/Toney plays huge dividends by airing it out. They will come in expecting a run-heavy offense and sell out to stop it, but I think we will throw to soften them up (and have plenty of time to throw).

We just have to control the pace of the game, run the football effectively like we’ve been doing and Beck needs to continue to play clean and pick up the easy first downs. We do not need to get in a track meet with them as we are the more physical team..Chambliss is a gamer but we need to keep him on the sideline n get some timely stops & we can win sumn like 27-20..start piling up stalled drives n we’re in trouble..caveman ball on line 1 please
