Limiting Ole Miss's explosive plays will be key for the defense. Since Chambliss took over they have 63 20+ yard plays against FBS teams, nearly 6 per game. They do an elite job getting TDs on drives with explosives averaging 5.5 pts/drive, getting a TD 67% of the time. They have scored a ton of 20+ yard TDs this year.
Our defense has given up 41 20+ yard plays in 13 FBS games (3.2/g) and just 15 in our last 6 (2.5/g). What's been so extraordinary over our last 6 games is on drives we give up an explosive we are only giving up 2.4 net pts/drive.
With our injuries at outside corner and their depth at WR we should expect to give up some explosive plays to them. Just need to not them score directly off them, then hold them to FGA/punt or force a turnover or intercept the ball and run 70 yards for a TD (thank Keionte).
