The new President will be Julio Frenk Mora

So basically we're replacing Donna Shalala with Donna Shalala with a ****? Great job, BOT.

Four pages of nothing but assumptions based on whatever is floating in the space between people's ears. My lord, bunch of people talking out their asses about two men they know very little about, talk about lame.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling....

Will this "guy" make his way back into the thread now?

Stellar work sir!

This post proves what I have suspected all along. You're much better than the rest of us huddled unwashed masses. Congratulations, dear friend, on being so above the fray that the fray looks like finely grated pepper specks to you.

It's definitely Frenk. I just saw someone carrying velvet Jesus and Mary paintings into the president's quarters at UM.

NO PHOTOSHOP. THIS IS OUR NEW PREZ.

Our best hope is for a President who doesn't care two hoots about football or athletics and hires a capable AD so that he could get it off his plate!!

Meddling Presidents who think they know everything are the worst....

Not sure why this isn't be said more. Donna wanted to hold down the program, because she's aware of its controversial history. Here's hoping this new president hires someone (not Blake James) that's capable of running the ship on their own, while he takes care of other things that he has more experience with - like fixing Donna's other f*** ups.

So you're of the opinion that there's a lot known about either fellow that justifies all of the sky is falling talk in this thread? If so, why?

Got two names out there, one looks to be the next man in charge. Besides that, little is known about either relative to sports and assumptions are made about both. One is even being lauded as the Mexican who only likes the beautiful game. Imagine the uproar if it was a man of color and some were saying how he'd only give a crap about basketball.

Either way, I'm guessing football won't be the first, second, or even third highest priority nor should it be. Having said that, we've flourished under a president who hated the football program, so there's no reason it couldn't happen again.

Now mosey on along and cry some more about how the sky really may be falling. No matter the choice, it'll work out whichever way it works out.

Can you imagine this guy with his heavy accent meeting with kids from the hood or their parents during recruiting visits. That was one thing that Shalala like her or not would hit out of the park in terms of selling UM as an institution to both recruits and parents.

Lets see if this is really the pick and how he connects with the kids. I will say this though if this guy is the pick, I would not be surprised if we saw UM's next head coach search committee give Memphis's head coach Justin Fuente a real long look as a candidate to be Miami's next head coach. Since there are very few Power 5 head coaches that are Latino I would think a Latino President would give serious thought to bringing in a Latino HC, especially in South Florida, not to mention Fuente's is a rising helluva coach. I would like to see his team take the next step before he was given the rains to a school like UM. Much of Memphis's success the last few years was because of their stifling defenses, but Def Coor. Barry Odom has moved on to coach at Mizzo; so now lets see if Fuente can stand on his own or was he a product of Odom's getting off the bus bringing pressure defenses.

Go Canes

That's a great point about his accent because none of the kids in South Florida are used to hearing Spanish accents. It could really catch them off guard.

I think it's funny a private school keeps looking to public sector leaches for leadership.

So can we safely put UM football in a coffin or do we have to wait and see with the joke of a season we are going to have?
