The loss is 1000000% on Mario, but I'd still like to discuss the fumble call

You get hosed when you do nothing about it.

A stronger, more competent Athletic Department would be taking the league to task over the blatant biased officiating we receive behind the scenes. That’s how corporate politicking works.

But see the stadium experience thread if you want a notion of our Athletic Department’s “competence”

So when we are no longer in the ACC next year, will that work?

One of the strangest things I saw was a 2nd down play we had and the line judge came in and signaled to move the chains for a first down, the referee looked at him and shook his head no. The next thing you know, it was 3rd and 1. Anyone else notice this in the 1st half?

Those thoughts cross my mind. But they easily could’ve overlooked the EP block over-center call? If they bet the points, why would they risk calling the fumble the wrong way? What’s their motivation?
it couldnt be overlooked because he was the guy that blocked the fg as the snapper was f*ckin flailing on the ground

It was total horse**** review, terrible call. IMO, they should just get rid of review, considering they still get calls wrong watching in slow motion from 10 different angles. I can live with bang bang calls like that play that don't go your way with the guys actually on the field in real time. There is no justification for replay to get that play incorrect. none
Exactly. ***** the inconclusive bull ****. Its either a fumble or its not. None of the play stands as called crap. They do not want to make the officials look bad. I officiated for over 30 years you would not believe the politics involved. Never leave the outcome in the hands of the refs.

The worsty was the call on Mauiogoa when he had to jump to avoid a chop block and got called for roughing the passer because helanded on the qb

That's been tried with no results. And that's been with several ADs, not just Blake James. The first step to corporate politics is to recognize your place in the organization.

Do think that the ACC feels we're being wrongfully ****ed when the ACC feels we're their *****?

While the refs did their usual bull**** to us, I don’t wanna hear it. When you witness that an officiating crew is going to call the game the way they are from the 1st quarter of football alone, that’s your queue to not leave the game in the refs hands in the 4th quarter.

Anyone with half a brain cell knew that if the refs could make a difference late in the game, that they were going to. We didn’t take care of business and we let it happen. We ****ed around and we found out.

The fumble/not taking a knee is never in the realm of possibility if we took care of business the 1st three quarters of football. Regardless, still one of, if not the most ****ed up ending to a game I’ve maybe ever seen, and of course, it was the University of Miami.

Posted this elsewhere, but after all the craziness they led to they point, I felt a big sense of relief when they showed that angle you mentioned. I’m pretty good at waiting for the official call on a review no matter my interpretation of the replay, but every now and then I feel confident. And **** if I didn’t feel happy when I saw the elbow down. I was so thankful.

Then they kicked me in the nuts.

Its the little things that matter, and while I agree that our players should be smarter, I expect top cover from an organization that is trying to compete for national championships.

Why hasn't the president, the Athletic Director, the Director of Football Ops, or the Head Coach reached out to the commissioner of the ACC or whoever runs the officiating and demand an investigation?

At halftime, Mario should have been on the phone and refused to walk his team back out onto the field until a new White hat was brought in.

If the staff is going to let the officials sway the game, then they don't care.

Its the same with Barry Jackson and our local reporters. They're all trash and contribute to issues.

The little things matter and the leadership at Miami won't do anything right or hold anyone accountable.

15yrs myself. I know a handful of ACC officials. That crew that did the game and the replay official are substandard to say the least.

When we leave the ACC our social media manager should tweet out a cut of every egregious ACC ref call of recent memory.

It's Mario's fault. This thread isn't to take blame away from him. Now that that has been established. Let's talk about the fumble.

Looking at the replay it was quite obvious that the elbow was in grass and then the ball was stripped afterwards. There was a replay angle (from the endzone I think) that clearly showed this. They showed that angle at the end of the review process and even zoomed in on it which made it very clear and obvious. There is at least some small part of replay that is subjective because a human is interpretting what they see. But **** man, this seemed pretty cut and dry. I'm kind of at a loss for how anyone on this planet could see what I saw and say he wasn't down or it was inconclusive. I guess the only thing I can come up with is the one angle we saw, wasn't shown to the ref on the field??? Really strange. I would love to hear from the ref what he saw and why he made that call, but obviously that will never happen.
The problem is Tobacco Road doesn’t give two shyts about Miami
We’ve known this for 20 years
I’d make it public if I was AD and run a **** clip of all the bs calls and make ACC embarrased

It can’t get worse than we see every f ing week
Our D line gets held and we rarely draw penalties
Conversely they drop flags in big plays continuously to disrupt UM

A Fücking Trocious

- work by the zebras not of officiating the game in a fair and balanced way abiding by the letter of the law, but of masking this conference’s absolute disdain and disgust of Miami.

They got bailed out by all the “ Mario is a dum dum “ banter by the pundits ( who don’t even try to mask their own bias against Miami ).

I think this deal my have been a worse manipulation than the national championship game farce. Granted when you factor in the stage that debacle was far worse, but by the guidelines there can be a very slight argument against Kelly.

There’s no way you can justify calling that a fumble under any law, by law, clause ( not even motherfûckin Santa ). Zero

I agree with you.

Make it a big deal, it couldn’t get worse.

Except it can.

It’ll look like sour grapes and just pour more gas on the fire.

Let these people get their 24-48hrs of fun and move on.

Agree, except it should be done immediately from here on out.

That call was a war crime. We should declare war on this conference and it’s officials.

I mean seriously aside from fines for public shaming, what’s the worst thing that can happen. The refs scrèw us even more blatantly? Don’t think that’s possible at this point.

We should go full William Wallace on these bums and force them into accountability.
