(The) Indiana (Game)

I would add "If we run the ball effectively" and "If we win the turnover battle" and "If we have 6 penalties or less for 50 yards or less". Then we win this game. Period.

I don't think we need to play anywhere near a perfect game to beat them. Go back and watch those 3 games I referenced....Penn State, Iowa, and Ohio State all made a ton of mistakes and STILL had a chance to win. All 3 lost by less than 6 points. We are better than all 3 of those teams.

Miami has a lot more "outs" in this game. We're a team that can win multiple ways. I honestly think Indiana's carriage is about to turn back into a pumpkin. Midnight looms.

Whether something works or not doesn't change if it's appropriate to call in that moment (especially on a field we had already shown issues with footing) would've been great to see. But why go through all of that to establish and break the other defense will only to show them we feel the need to try a gimmick. The effect was just as easily established by simply going playaction... Gotta do a better job to understand the flow of the game. Nothing wrong with a gimmick when necessary. But not in that spot. Just my two cents and what a lot of us felt.
Agreed. What I said in the group chats with the boys during the game was a lot different than what I am saying here perspective wise 🤣

Took a lot for a few of us not to grab dawson by the neck. Luckily for him the only one close like that is Mike. 😂
I said after that flea flicker the toughest offense our defense has played all year is our own

To their credit they’ve stepped up all playoffs when we absolutely have to have it but we just can’t keep leaving points on the field all game (I know you’re well aware)

Yeah not if it’s 50yds down the field out of bounds lol

It's still an illegal forward pass/intentional grounding. After someone other than the player who took the snap touches the ball there is no throwaway exception to avoid intentional grounding .

Imagine what we were thinking when it's a two point game 6 minutes left and our OC decides now's the time to completely abandon a DOMINANT run game... To his credit thank God it worked. But I still don't comprehend the logic behind it. If anyone needed proof it's not Mario being so hands on with our offense those last six minutes were the sample size.

If you would have told me the biggest issue with the offense in the playoffs is NOT running the ******* ball enough I absolutely would not have believed you

Dawson has taken the criticism of lack of explosives personally and it’s backfired at times. The A&M game was fireable and I’ve mostly been pro-Dawson (pro-ish)

I think our biggest advantage might be that Indiana forgets to show up because they think they've already been given the trophy.

And I gotta say, maybe we shouldn't even show up since they're already the greatest team in college football history.

This is more of a philosophical discussion of offensive play calling. Sure, the run was working..but a single TFL if the defense is keying on run and you have a problem.

The best offense you can ever have is playing to what the defense gives you. We have an underused, quality QB who9 can make all of those throws.

I think early in the season we were running into stacked boxes. I'm glad not to see that anymore.

Although the flea flicker did not work. I am positive that Indiana is thinking about it. This is good for us..

Remember even in my criticism of him throughout the year, it didn't come because we were run heavy. It was because we were repetitive in our play calling and running the ball in ways that didn't test the defense. I've never had a problem with us running the ball. All I care about is winning and that's the strength of this team. Just be imaginative in how we embrace that. Overall he's doing an amazing job in the playoffs. I just want him to stay out of his head and stick to what he knows we excell at.
