The incompetence continues / practice fields

Did I read correctly that we plan to change the field back to the conditions the NFL deemed "unsafe" after the Niners are done? Lol This program is a joke.

you need to get the entire context from all reporters not just one slanted story from nfl.com

barry stated that UM prefers a certain mold that the NFL doesnt like. it wasnt that they were playing on a dirt patch and im sure if you took a trip to the fields youd see it wasnt a bunch of dirt patches everywhere. the NFL also requires facilities resod solely for SB practices. UM just replaced their field last summer for the first time in 3 years. this wasnt a decade old field and likely wasnt "unsafe".

The mopes and Eeyores are immune to logic.

What could of been good press throughout the week will now lead us back to everyone saying we are lacking in facilities.
This right here. Miss me with the rationalization and propping up Blake James as some sort of 3D chess genius for getting the 49'ers to pay for the re-sodding. It's the perception that matters. We just gave every other program we are competing against for recruits yet another piece of ammunition to fire at us. "Oh you don't want to go to Miami son...they don't even have safe practice fields. It's a Mickey Mouse program."

When recruits visit, you walk them out there (they already do this) and show them the facilities. Miss me with all of that doom and gloom.

And you think recruits are going to take the time to dig into the story this deeply? Spoiler alert: they're not getting past the 30 second sound bite portraying our facility as the Corvair of practice fields. This is the TikTok short attention span generation. If you don't think FSU, Bama, OSU, UF, et al are going to use this to negative recruit against us then I have some ocean front property in Nebraska to sell you.

Think about how bad this is.

It took us A YEAR to grow a field that was in such bad condition, the NFL immediately deemed it unsafe.

Then, we refuse to change the field unless the Niners pay for it.

I mean how are we so incompetent at every single facet of athletics?

So it is competence to have a billion dollar franchise that is using your facility to redo the field?

That sounds pretty brilliant on Miami's part.

incompetence is what happened with Levis Field. this is some unknown of a standard that well likely never find out.

Might explain why, despite not practicing hard, we seem to have so many practice injuries. I am native of Miami and I got to tell you getting grass to grow is south FL just is not a feat of great proportions. Keeping cut is a ***** but it kind of just grows, especially since this winter has not been that dry. We have become total clowns.

Are you guys trying to tell me that all those injuries that were blamed on Swasey were actually the fault of the practice field???

And when recruits visit other programs, you hand them a printout of the "Miami practice fields unsafe for NFL" article.

***** the people whining about "doom and gloom". The story is eternal, whether you admit it or not.

Beta Blake lost the PR war by digging his heels. We could be telling recruits "we are up to NFL standards" for the next decade except for the fact that Blake botched this situation.

Why do you keep bringing this up? Does this excuse everyone else from having good practice fields, because the 49ers new stadium has struggled?

And how much time do teams spend on practice fields vs. the home stadium. Might there not be some sort of HEIGHTENED level of concern for practice fields?

And if Hard Rock Stadium lets the field go to ****, and then the NFL comes in and tells them that they need to re-sod before the Super Bowl, do we honestly think that Hard Rock will tell the NFL to go F off, and cite the 49ers stadium as some sort of justification for why they should ALSO be allowed to have a crappy field?

I seriously don't understand why people think that the 49ers stadium JUSTIFIES any of this nonsense.

Another one of the Hecht apologists. 88 posts in 9 years, and you blew one of them defending Blake.

The issue is NOT the re-sod. If the negotiations had been handled quietly and Blake had acted like "how can I be of assistance today", then we could justifiably brag about having soaked the NFL for $100K.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED.

Instead, Beta Blake had to act like he was so attached to his precious grass that he could not possibly do anything. And it is THIS behavior that will be used against us in the future.

Assuming that the Hecht apologists are correct, and that the NFL routinely re-sods fields prior to Super Bowls, then HOW IS IT that we are the ONE FACILITY that fights the NFL and makes ourselves look like buffoons?

Show me all the other articles about all the other Super Bowl practice facilities over the past decade that REFUSED to re-sod for safety purposes.

Google all those articles. I'll wait.

The more seriously Miami appears to take its football program, the more evident it becomes how inept they are in every facet.

Now that we've got a sparkling new IPF and we play in a modernized stadium Super Bowl, we've never been more of a laughingstock.

It took the 49ERS to expose once again how this program is incompetent. Go 49ERS.

The county has allotted $4 million in tax money to subsidize the super bowl including $1 million just to pay for the teams’ hotel rooms. So the billionaire owner of the 49ers had to spend his own money to improve the practice field that they’re using for free? Cry me a river.
