That was such an awesome night. I remember the mcdougle td so vividly. I thought the foundations would give outIt did vs Washington and that home schedule was brutal. In 2002, we averaged 65k.

The corners of the upper deck which is completely covered was bare. The heavy rain did not help. If you were sitting in the lower rows, you got dumped on for 3 quarters.
Sections 305-307 were designated student overflow. There were over 4k people in line when student tickets were offered up at noon. The corners of the upper deck which is completely covered was bare.
That's one of the issues with playing in an NFL stadium. Mind you, I like Hard Rock stadium but I don't do what you mention which is stay in the concourse to talk sh*t. I go to watch the game. College stadiums such as the swamp and doak don't give the fans those types of amenities.I just don't get it. I guess everyone is wired differently. But I could never picture myself sitting in the concourse area, talking nonsense with people while the Canes are literally playing live in that stadium. If people want to sit on a couch, "in AC", while drinking a ****tail....just stay home.
What does mean, they stood in line to get the tickets but didn't show up?Sections 305-307 were designated student overflow. There were over 4k people in line when student tickets were offered up at noon.
The 2017 ND pre-game build up and the Bandy INT was the loudest HRS was for a half.Heard it was extremely loud. I remember ob not selling out in 01 lol

Taken at 10:35Online queue, system crashing, not sure how uni/ticketmaster managed unclaimed tickets; buses were still dropping kids off after kickoff
Oh I'm personally not complaining about Hard Rock but the excuse machine to me is just nuts. It's too far for the students, people rather sit in the concessions area and watch it on tv, the weather. It's always something. When the Canes played at the OB, it was the same thing. That stadium wasn't 20 miles away. In 2001 they averaged less than 50KBut with a team like the canes, you have to have those types of amenities.
Small school, small student body, off campus stadium, 95% of the people there are not students, but are working adults, many (probably most) who never even attended the U.
A college type stadium wouldnāt work for Miami.
The student overflow section needs to be removed and opened to the general public. Other than ND 2017, I can't remember ever seeing that upper deck corner completely filled. The student turnout was an embarrassment. How they don't fill their sections for our biggest rivalry and biggest home game of the season is beyond me.
Besides that, it was good crowd. Upper end zones were a bit sparse for a supposed "sell-out," but that's to be expected when the school tries to rip off its fans with overpriced nosebleed tickets, and then dumps them onto the secondary market at the last minute.
You've got to remember it's influencer university. UM students are more worried about recording their day-in-the-life videos or their Hyrox training videos than attending a football game. A huge reason kids pick Miami is that they want to grow their social media, and there is no better place to do that right now than the city of MiamiThe student turnout was an embarrassment. How they don't fill their sections for our biggest rivalry and biggest home game of the season is beyond me.

Glad you started this thread. Atmosphere was great...especially towards the end. But 2 things that irked me bigtime on Saturday.
1) A herd of students leaving at halftime. I was walking down the circular ramps from 200 to 100 level to say hello to some friends and I see dozens of students leaving the stadium. Mind you, score is 14-14, against your biggest rival...and you're leaving at halftime? It's like they want to get back to campus to sit in their dorms. Just ****ed me off.
This also was an issue at the OB and that stadium was significantly closer. Students simply don't care. If you want proof pull up any Hurricanes basketball game.Just FYI, the students have been doing this for years. This is a big consideration as it relates to the games being in Hard Rock. Without relitigating the "on-campus stadium" pros and cons, we have to be honest that the distance from campus to Hard Rock, the length of the bus trip, and the fact that many students have concerns with academic priorities...puts us in a situation where I have watched UM students leave games at halftime...FOR TWENTY YEARS.
Speaking as a season ticketholder and someone who's been to hundreds of Canes games in my lifetime, I can say that the same two groups of people almost always leave at halftime; Students and elderly people (like 70+ year olds).
I can understand the elderly leaving at half, but students leaving is the reason why I always scoff at people wanting an on or near campus stadium. Why? The people who go and stay for the whole game are the south Florida market fans, not the campus fans.
And for years, some on this board wanted to build a tin can stadium on campus for these trust fund kids....
...can't even sit through a game against your biggest rival ...
Go figure.

Itās because Miami holds open seats period. Instead of students getting limited accesss or having to pay for them separately from the gazillion they pay already for school like at other universitiesThe student turnout was an embarrassment.
