The Foreclosure (7/12)

People talking about Mario's salary are ******* bozos. Who cares? You (and me) pay none of it.

I don't care if his salary was $1 or $100M a year, the expectations are the same. Win football games. A lot of them. Win the stupid ACC. Make the playoffs. Compete annually for championships, develop and maintain a program that is a consistent winner. Who gives a **** how much he makes? Win.
Only people that have empty pockets care about what’s in someone else’s pocket

I love South Florida kids because that's where I'm from, but the culture down there is mercenary culture. The biggest bag will win. I don't believe in upping the bag for a Runningback... You have Runningbacks right now we can that's faster than Cooper for a cheaper price we need speed.

If I'm Mario I go after players who have crazy speed, and if Speed isn't your priority here are some natural backs. We really need speed on this team I sell the Gadget players on being my Percy Harvin. Jet sweeps, Lining up in the slot sometimes, Catch out of the backfield, etc. My traditional backs Ground and Pound.

If I'm Mario I start chipping away at this guy. Because USC will not being able to keep this class together. 10.5 Track Time. We flipped the DE Lowe from this school last Season.

I also think when saying that people dont know other coachs salaries. I am pretty sure Mario is around #15. So if you are taking it globally instead of a vacuum does this mean we should be getting recruiting classes in the 10-15 area and have a team that hovers around the same? If so Mario appears to be outperforming his contract.

I know for sure he is behind Venebales, Huepel, Kiffin, Stoops, Kelly, Norvell, and Riley, all of which I will say are underperforming. So when you talk about salary do it globally.

Now the argument Mario is underperforming for getting Miami back to championship level play is up for debate. On one hand, we would not have the money backing but for mario being here, we have made huge strides in terms of facilities, nutrition and they way the program is run. We have stacked a few solid recruiting classes together, something we never did before, all good things he gets credit for.

But we are still portal shopping for C every.single.year when OL is supposed to be his thing, we still have huge holes at certain positions, the development and/or evaluations at certain positions is below par and the carousel of coaches that have come through, most of which have been objective failures are things he rightfully deserves criticism for.

The problem in TrumpyCane's opinion is majority of people on here are all in the opposite of the spectrum. You have people who love Mario but don't admit he's sucked in some things and then the Mario hate crowd who can't admit he's done some things well

It's why every thread ends up being the same discussion with the same individuals

No. Mario was brought here to recruit. He’s supposed to recruit at a high level with the NIL he has. But he’s also supposed to evaluate, develop and coach. He’s not top 15 in those things, not even close as to coaching.

Anyone willing to talk about this brutal program every day the last 10 years is good in my book. It’s all in fun even if I don’t really agree with people.
Glad we got camp coming up in a week or so. Starts to get the juices flowing and before you know it September is here.
