What's the point of paying a recruiting first head coach 8 mil if he's plateaued at the teens in recruiting?

Sad Tb GIF by Hide The Pain Harold
Not the results we wanted when we agreed to the deal but at this point he is the 17th highest paid coach.

If they look good, I’ll post it.

Remember, the practice reports (mine and others) were clear that secondary would be our weakness last year. I don’t think anybody expected the total defensive collapse, but DB was always the area of concern.
Is it true that once July 1st hit and revenue share happened are we just getting outbid on everyone

you been spouting that bs up n down the board for weeks.

I know you would disagree because it didnt go with your notion that UM could beat up on an sec team......YOUR BACK AT IT AGAIN THIS YEAR AS WELL.

Your the ONLY person UF fans included that believe 2 penalties changed that game... but thats why opinions are like azzholes.
This your first time getting Nickster’d?

Pause

I agree with the "budget argument". However, that would imply we weren't realistically in the running for most of these misses post-Cantwell. I know we aren't going to bat 1000%, but it's been a tailspin since Spafford flipped. That was only 3 weeks ago
its only been a tail spin to ppl that THOUGHT we were getting any of those kids with scheduled commitments.

The only kid i felt good about is Derrick Cooper.

How or why yall belive you were landing a kid from lsu's campus, a s fla kid that TOLD You u werent in the top 4, TWOsafeties from metro atlanta with uga and clemson attention i have no idea.

I aint gonna lie i think some of yall boughtinto the banana tail pipe recruiting hype from blogs, posters, twitter.

Recruiting vets like me had no expectation from NONE of the recently committed recruits. Ive been stating new offers should be going out at their positions for weeks lol

It should have never gotten to the point he was allowed to run the defense. Anyone with a brain knew the syracuse game was going to be a bear. Cam gave the team a 21 point lead and the defense couldn';t hold on.

Ga Tech was a failure on all of the staff. They simply got out coached
I would pushback on Cuse and put that on Mario. 94th ranked run defense in the country. They scored so it was really 21-7. Up 14 he shoulda said let’s pound the rock. A few ****** things happened in that game. X fumble for TD AND phantom holding.

gotta do what hasnt been done in 21 years bottom line, not complicated, this is it, the crux, worst than post probation, this seasom is the most talented roster at Miami in 20 years, gotta get it done and the flood gates will open, ***** it, make it the narrative, put the pressure on everyone, we have the horses, its time

East St Louis is ranked 8th in the country. I’m more excited to watch them this year instead of these ****boys in Coral Gables.

He didn’t run the defense. He was a figurehead, it was sabans D.
So every DC he hired was just a figurehead? You hire a guy at DC just to collect a paycheck and say you go here and you go here. Come on Saban could have anyone and hired Steele.

Damien Martinez was literally unstoppable in that game

He went to the bench for Lyle. We went 3 and out twice in a row and the rest is history

I’m all for resting running backs but if there was ever a time to put the game on someone’s shoulders it was Damien Martinez right there not a true freshman

Not saying the game would have been different of course. Who knows.

Just a poor feel for the game

Dammit I said I would never bring that up again…

On point one, that’s because that’s what we were told. Then reality happened and he’s still doing the same ****.

I’m not really sure I understand what you said… Bowden helped construct a team that played for the natty last year and is a top ten team going into the season…

Also fck UF and ND. I’m just trying to be an object Miami / CFB fan
Oh my point was ND started off in recruiting with like the #1 class by getting all these guys to commit early, then they end up finishing like 10th and 11th becuase they lost a lot of commitments mid-late in 23/24. For all this talk about how good of a roster ND is they were coming off Five straight 10+ win seasons under Brian Kelly. Freeman walked into just about the best situation a HC can possibly walk into. Sure ND has never really been some very great recruiting program in terms of rankings and once Freeman and Bowden got there they certainly stepped up a level, but it's not like it was some major shift they underwent that elevated them to some insane new heights. And Bowden was only GM what 23 and 24? Did they do anything spectacular in those classes (HS+portal)? Not really. At least not in comparison to US they didn't. In fact I'd think it'd be very tough to argue that objectively in 23+24 ND did better than us in getting HS+Portal talent.

USC then last year I don't remember what they started, but I know it was looking pretty **** good (not as good as this class, but good), then late they lose a lot of guys and end up finishing worse than us in recruiting and losing their best recruit specifically to us. I know this dude just joined them what in december so can't put that HS class/fall on him, but it was the same already at ND. And now I'm very interested to see if this USC class does hold together. I mean Id say if it does it's because of all the NIL changes going on tbh.... But objectively I don't think USC got a very good portal class, and that should be on him, right?

I legit think USC just has the biggest bag this HS class and saying we should be more like them is literaly like saying all the teams in the NFL should be more like the teams that spend more in FA, or like they should be like the teams with three 1st round picks and one of them is their top 5 pick cause they sucked....

I mean if you finish 2nd you were realistically in the running.

You’re talking about class ranking I’m talking about recruit ranking which matters more in my opinon

No one is “mad”

Speaking of diminishing accomplishments I would say people are doing the same of UiFs high school recruiting because they hate them

Which hey I’m cool with but Mario is recruiting level with what he’s been doing since he got here (which is very well imo) If people expected us to overtake OSU/Oregon/Texas etc in rankings I think that’s a mistake
Recruit rankings man everytime we get a highly ranked kid they push his ranking down lmao.

Florida outside of lj McCray & lagway. Now brown and hanks and the Tampa receiver they stole from Oregon and Stubbs. They are the only kids they have I would’ve wanted. Which all came in the past two classes. Imo They got cormani because he’s an idiot who took terrible advice. Unbiased We bring in quality players in high school and the portal. That can compete and win against anybody we line up against. You haven’t seen us be outclassed in the past two years so let’s stop the foolishness. We lost but it wasn’t like past regimes losses imo.

I think we’re getting screwed in these big battles because we’re in this weak *** conference that nobody respects tbh but that’s just my opinion not a fact.

also ****k UF, we beat their asses to a pulp last year. But this is a new year. They are probably a little over hyped. But **** I would be more circumspect about this years game / team.. that qb has real skill, they have some really talented WRs. OL has more starts than any in the country. QB has a lot of potential.

Again I HATE them but **** can we be objective. Also two things can be true, we murdered them and they did improve last year…
