The Foreclosure (7/12)

That’s fine too but we hired a guy for 10 guaranteed years who isn’t a good coach and now his strength as a recruiter has been eliminated for whatever reason. These guys literally could have kept Manny with the resources they have given Mario and would not have any less of a W-L record these past 3-4 years or whatever it is.
@grover @Hoyacane1620 and @Calinative, Manny’s at one less win than Mario without the resources Mario had in that same timeframe so take 🤮, ❌ and 🤦🏻‍♂️ and shove it up your tres sandy vajayjays

Manny was also a first time head coach with alumni actively working to sabotage him vs. an experienced head coach with all the resources. Sad all around.

The issue: Mario has been at a level so low, we have to keep talking about Manny...

He can’t develop much beyond OL and for all the OL hype, how many OL has he put in the league in the 1st round over the the last 10 years… Sewell, a few years ago, and Mauigoa shortly?
@Calinative, Sewell is one, how many 1st round OLs has Mario put in the league over the past 10 years??? I wanna see what elite OL recruiting and development looks like.

Oh yeah… alumni were on the Butch Davis-led FIU sidelines of UM-FIU rooting for FIU and laughing at UM. Criticize Mario and those same alumni will take you to task for it.

I was a Manny guy until he got fired. Then I became a Mario guy. The coach of the Hurricanes is who I support. There is a difference between the two and the gap is actually pretty wide. Manny lost when he missed on Jalen Hurts. It was the beginning of the end. That would have been us last year without Ward no doubt but Mario got it done. We have won more games every year Manny had less wins in his 3rd year than before. Two different directions and I can't remember ever having this many 5 star OL and DL and top 100 players on the LOS since I have followed recruiting. They say OL play and QB play travel. Guess what we had the best QB last year with good OL play and won 10 games. This year we have a top 10 QB and OL play should be just as good if not better. It definitely is put up or shut up time but the only ones comparing him to Manny are the ones that if we won a championship they still would say we did it wrong.

Lopez- Didnt seem to be a priority, then became one, then seems to have just made a verbal just to have a spot somewhere seems to me considering dude saidd himself its just a "verbal".

I don't know man…Staff has been all over him for a while no?

And in the last 6 months he's basically been in every DMoney "The Bank"

I'm not defending Mario. I'm pointing out your thinking in absolutes is wrong.

There are several coaches where Rome wasn't built in a day including Saban and Dabo.
If Rome was built in 3 years, you’re correct.

When Saban won, he started winning in year 2. Both at Bama and LSU. He didn’t win at MSU so that doesn’t matter.

Dabo won the conference in year 3. And starting in year 3 won at least 10 games in 12 straight years.

Look it’s work to do but imagine complaining about recruiting, let alone in July when Cristobal since he’s been at Miami as well as other places shown you he can close. RELAX!

Just don’t follow recruiting like that and just look everyone now and then and you won’t get so worked up lol. Mind you I used To follow recruiting daily and now I hardly check unless it’s big news
Brock, the good news is that some of these guys on here like Cali and a few others will wipe the “Brock slurped golden” memory from the minds of those who were here back then. (And yes, I know you bailed on golden before the end of his tenure). Something to look forward to in all this chaos

Dabo was hired mideason after Bowden was fired and coached 7 games that year.

His third full season after that, they won the ACC.

Being at a school for years and being hired as the HC in October isn’t close to comparable as being hired fresh in December, but either way, forget that first year. Dabo was 25-16 those first 3 seasons. 60% win percentage. Mario is 22-16.
He did go nuts after that, of course. The next season, year 4 in full, was the first with Venables. I don’t believe Dabo was ever a coordinator either at any point, just like Mario. So Mario only has to win 10 a year for the next decade. No pressure.

This Manny revisionist history is a sight to behold
Manny sucks and so does Mario but Manny was cheaper and the record was the same after 3 seasons.

So I spent a boatload of cash in a high end restaurant that sucked. I left disappointed. The food sucked, the server was a prick and the money could have paid for our phones and internet next month. The next day I spent $10 at Burger King for two cheeseburgers, fries and an iced tea. I was just as full and far happier with getting what I paid for at the BK Lounge and still had to lente of money left over.

This is Mario and Manny, respectively, as referenced.

I am a Miami fan from the 1970's. I have seen it all. For this fan base to ***** like it does now is not surprising but, as usual, terribly disappointing. Let me tell you what I have seen so you can appreciate what we have now.

Howard won a natty with some guys who were not the most athletic but he had a scheme for offense that was ahead of his time. He ran a pro style offense when teams were still recruiting to defend the wishbone. He ended up showing that pro style beats the wishbone.

Jimmy came here from an Oklahoma team that basically ran the wishbone. He had Thurman Thomas - why wouldn't you do that? He got here and met Gary Stephens the guy most wanted to get the job he just took. He wisely let Gary run the offense. On offense Stevens got Testeverde from Va from NY. Walsh from MN. Richt from Boca Raton. Then he did what Jimmy did best he recruited the best of the best on defense. Fortunately for him he made some great decisions in getting Jesse Armstead from Texas, Michael Barrow from Pennsylvania, and Randy Shannon from Miami. He then recruited Ed Reed from Louisiana and many other out of state players.

I could go on and on about how our best recruits were not local or Florida players. If that were true FSU and UF would have 5 championships. But they don't have that.

Under Manny we were undersized on both the offensive line and defensive line as a result of his failure to recruit. Mario took the job and said on day one he had to rebuild the trenches. He has done exactly that on both sides on the ball. I don't give a **** if we lose a CB or a safety if we can't be bullied anymore. And there is no doubt we just rebuilt the secondary in the transfer portal. We have a QB 1 excellent OL, great RB's, excellent tight ends and dangerous wide outs. Stop the whining and *****ing God Dammit!
