Gus is a solid back that has a good combo of size and speed. Remember in 2015 he took the job from yearby in camp but then got hurt with the ankle injury

You got to put yourself in other people shoes. He wanted to be a featured back, that clearly wasn't going to happen with waltons grip on the rb job. He also wanted to return closer to home too I believe. Why hate on him?

He's always looked good in practice.

Then you play the games and defenses are actually allowed to tackle and suddenly he looks like garbage, every single year

Exactly. He is a good player. Not great but good . To say anything else isn't living in reality. Would of loved to have had him but he ain't going to beat out Walton ( a top 5 back nationally) and a future stud like Homer . So going home and being a star makes sense.

Hard to really judge him considering he only got a few carries per game. Should be interesting to see what he does
