Didn’t need a 6 paragraph explanation either sheesh
Apparently it did, & If it took u 6 paragraphs to read simple bullet points then that’s all I need to know.

As of today we would be favored by 6 to 6.5 on a neutral field. Probably -3.5 at Pitt.Honestly, I think the longest odds in this whole scenario is that we win all 3 of our remaining games. Im guess as it stands today Pit would be slightly favored at home in late November.

Trumpycane thinks maybe ask Norvell why they were down 14-0That’s the reality of the playoff. Why would he play anybody that’s banged up or tired and risk further injury? Remember FSU against North Bama? How’d that workout for them keeping Travis in the game? Beating ND doesn’t mean anything to Pitt. Their only path to the playoff is winning the ACC. Late OOC games are essentially week 18 of the NFL for 98% of teams.
Miami really needs to start scheduling an OOC game late in the year and take advantage of these situations.
Last time I checked, James Madison and USF are both ranked right now. So if Duke were to hypothetically win the ACC (highly doubt they do), then the acc isn’t necessarily guaranteed a spot. Duke lost to UConn and Tulane, so they wouldn’t get in. The last 5 sports could go to ND, 3rd ranked SEC, 3rd ranked b10 team, 2nd ranked big 12 team, and maybe a sec team (Vandy, OU, or Texas). I think this scenario would actually be helpful to us, because I think we could get that last spot. However, I just don’t trust this committeeI don’t need it explained in a 30 min clip, so let me simplify it for us all b/c it literally doesn’t need 30 mins.
Technically, this is correct & I overstated my position b/c of assumptions of this board & that’s my fault. The CFP will take the highest the top 5 highest ranked conference champions from:
ACC
B1G
Big12
SEC
Conf. USA
MAC
MWC
Sun Belt
American
Each Conference champion must be ranked w/in the CFP Final 25, with each of the highest being auto bids. Now, the ? was about Duke winning out. They are currently 5-4.
This means they will have defeated:
-UVA (CFP #22)
-UNC
-WF
-GT or Pitt in the ACCCG (CFP #15)
What if Duke beats UVA, & loses 1 of 2 to either UNC or WF, but then defeats a ranked GT or Pitt in the ACCCG? Again, that’ll be two CFP Top 25 teams eliminated on their resumé. The G5 is only sending one team & it’s going to be either: JMU, Navy, or North Texas.
The G5s have zero ranked teams right now in the CFP Top 25, while the ACC has 6. One of those 5 r getting in, as the odds of us making the ACCCG is almost 0%. The winner of the conference will be ranked in the Final 25, & that includes Duke if they run the table & win out.
The ACC has done this to themselves by adding clown schools from the west, treating their biggest brands like ****, and not doing anything to clean up the league wide officiating **** shows we see every week. Indeed, missed calls are part of the game, but the blunders we’re seeing are deciding games and there are multiple every week. It’s embarrassing, but fitting for this complete joke of a conference. Will be Lashlee and Diaz in the ACC championship, and they will both send dic pics to Mario.
Norvell made the decision to call a designed run for Travis in a game they would’ve won (like they did) without him. Norvell should’ve told Travis not to leave the pocket for that exact reason.Trumpycane thinks maybe ask Norvell why they were down 14-0
That’s why he was in the game

Yeah, I'm old but fk it pilgrim
This changed this year. The conf aren’t guaranteed the top 4 seeds. ND could get the #1 seed in undefeated. That was my fault; the “official” CFP site didn’t update their rankings. Yes…
JMU & USF r 24th & 25th respectively.
If ND wins out, they’re getting in. The highest seed they can get is 5th even in an undefeated season, & they certainly won’t be a 5th seed, but they’ll be top 12.
B/c the ACC have so many teams in the top 25, I highly doubt they’ll put in two G5 teams. That’ll be a bad optical look for a “perceived” power conference. There was already backlash for what happened in 2023.
Mario built this team for that kind of game. I just hope he got it right.Win the next two (Nc State and Va Tech) and things will be much clearer thereafter. Only thing is that Pitt game is shaping up to be a monster with everything on the line. I would not be surprised if Miami is sitting at #12 or #13 going into that game. Night game in the cold perhaps both teams sitting with 2 losses and ranked in the top 15. Oh God my stomach hurts already.

It’ll be funny if an 8-4 duke beats a 1 acc loss g tech to force the true intentions of the cfp committee. The Conference Champions of the P4 get auto bids & the highest G5 conference champion gets an automatic bid. The ACC may not get two teams in, but they r guaranteed 1.
in that scenario we'd still be at least 4thIf Clemson beats Louisville and then Louisville beats SMU things are setup really well for us.
I mean I think UVA is going to drop another game for sure. Duke at this point would be a joke to make the ACC CG lol.
We just need to win out period. What happens in ACC is out of our control. Just win out for ***** sake
H2H doesnt matter in 3-4-5 team tie breakers unless a team beat everyone tiedin that scenario we'd still be at least 4th
smu would have tiebreaker over us, GT would still be ahead of us, and Duke
we're not making the acc title game lmao
out of all the teams on our schedule we lost to the 2 teams that mattered the most in terms of post season potential
I mean Im not saying that's all we need. But that would be going a long way.in that scenario we'd still be at least 4th

on fs1 today jon gruden and david portnoy and everyone on their show said acc shouldnt have a team in the playoffs this year. said it could happen as long as the g5 is ranked higher...even spoke on duke. The committee should make up a rule banning the ACC for this years playoff. The SEC and BIG 10 will be screaming for all 12 spots if that happens. They would have a valid point.
