The Duke Dilema

More of a reason to get out of this ****** conference. **** go the route of ND. Play 1-2 ranked teams a year then schedule nothing but 1 and 2 win teams from the Big10, ACC, and SEC along with 3-4 G5 schools. Guaranteed 10 win seasons for eternity.
The ACC is *** that how are schedule is basically every year. We aren’t facing juggernauts in the acc.

Amazingly, despite being 5-4, after running every simulation, 7-5 Duke is basically a lock to get into the ACCCG, unless Pitt beats GT, Clemson beats UL, UL beats SMU, and SMU beats Cal. Wed also need to win out.

So root for them to lose two more, otherwise we need an inside straight.

My point was ND is gonna make the playoffs losing 2 of their 3 real games this year. ND schedules 2-3 real teams and then loads the schedule with bottom feeders. 1-8 BC, 3-6 Stanford, 2-7 Arkansas, etc. Then add in 3-5 G5 and service academy teams and next thing you know your 10-2.

NDs two losses account for almost half of their opponent wins to date. If you subtract USC (7-2) as well NDs P4 opponents are something like 7-25.

You’re making a huge assumption that Duke as an ACC champion is going to be the fifth highest conference champion. It’s entirely possible they’re not going to be. It could be the American conference champion and James Madison from the Sunbelt ranked the head of Duke.
