The Duke Dilema

If the ACC has to send a 5 loss Duke team to the playoff they need to dismantle the conference immediately.
ACC doesn’t have to send anybody to rhe playoffs. The top 5 conference champs get a bid… would Duke be ranked above any 5 conference champs?

Miami Rules

1: Don’t expect sympathy or rationality from the media or any committee when it comes to Miami.

2: Do not expect the referees to save you. Yes we will get calls in our favor. But when conference titles or playoff berths are on the line, no soup for you!!!! Every referee knows what it will take in order for Miami to get to the playoffs. They will facilitate an easier path for everyone else by default. Certain teams are gonna get a lot of zebra help.
This has been a historical fact dating back to the JJ days and he even said it. “Never leave it on the hands of the refs”.

3: To steal a Maya Angelou quote “when this team shows you who they really are, believe them the first time”.
Post 2002 this team has **** the bed more than an Ebola patient with cholera.whenever we needed it the most.

4: The only people that had full control of making it to the playoffs were th players and coaches. In all of Miami hurricane history, there has never been a scenario where a committee or a referee gave us a chance.
As a matter, even when we did everything right we still had to split a title with the huskies.

The last week on the schedule should be left open so leagues can schedule 1 more conference game that becomes meaningful.

Maybe another way is that they can allow each team to discount one conference loss like they have allowed UVa against NCSt

If Clemson beats Louisville and then Louisville beats SMU things are setup really well for us.

I mean I think UVA is going to drop another game for sure. Duke at this point would be a joke to make the ACC CG lol.

We just need to win out period. What happens in ACC is out of our control. Just win out for ***** sake

Apparently the auto bids go to highest ranked conf champs, with no auto bids for the big4. Explained here:

I don’t need it explained in a 30 min clip, so let me simplify it for us all b/c it literally doesn’t need 30 mins.

Technically, this is correct & I overstated my position b/c of assumptions of this board & that’s my fault. The CFP will take the highest the top 5 highest ranked conference champions from:

ACC
B1G
Big12
SEC
Conf. USA
MAC
MWC
Sun Belt
American

Each Conference champion must be ranked w/in the CFP Final 25, with each of the highest being auto bids. Now, the ? was about Duke winning out. They are currently 5-4.

This means they will have defeated:
-UVA (CFP #22)
-UNC
-WF
-GT or Pitt in the ACCCG (CFP #15)

What if Duke beats UVA, & loses 1 of 2 to either UNC or WF, but then defeats a ranked GT or Pitt in the ACCCG? Again, that’ll be two CFP Top 25 teams eliminated on their resumé. The G5 is only sending one team & it’s going to be either: JMU, Navy, or North Texas.

The G5s have zero ranked teams right now in the CFP Top 25, while the ACC has 6. One of those 5 r getting in, as the odds of us making the ACCCG is almost 0%. The winner of the conference will be ranked in the Final 25, & that includes Duke if they run the table & win out.

Duke plays Virginia this weekend, so winner will be in a good spot to make it. We should be rooting for Duke in that game, then hope you drop one to Wake or UNC

I agree. Pitt beating VTech would be great too.

Ideally you want Duke to drop two more, and UVA to do the same. Possible

The Conference Champions of the P4 get auto bids & the highest G5 conference champion gets an automatic bid. The ACC may not get two teams in, but they r guaranteed 1.

How in the **** do some people not know this here? It's the way it works out every year, we're playing this team does that and this team does this hoping a bunch of sumebodies saves our ***.

Still, the idea that Manny at f'ing Duke plays for a conference title before the savior, the only man for the job, he who has a roster 10,x, 20x, or however many times more expensive, Mr gotta get back to work, is hysterical. That in a nutshell is the most Miami thing ever these days.

Having said all of that, I wouldn't bet on Duke.

Didn’t need a 6 paragraph explanation either sheesh

Pat Narduzzi said in his press conference, he doesn't care if ND scores 110pts against them. The only 2 games he care about are the last 2.. This is the **** that makes this conference a joke. what coach would ever say that?
That’s the reality of the playoff. Why would he play anybody that’s banged up or tired and risk further injury? Remember FSU against North Bama? How’d that workout for them keeping Travis in the game? Beating ND doesn’t mean anything to Pitt. Their only path to the playoff is winning the ACC. Late OOC games are essentially week 18 of the NFL for 98% of teams.

Miami really needs to start scheduling an OOC game late in the year and take advantage of these situations.
