I don’t need it explained in a 30 min clip, so let me simplify it for us all b/c it literally doesn’t need 30 mins.
Technically, this is correct & I overstated my position b/c of assumptions of this board & that’s my fault. The CFP will take the highest the top 5 highest ranked conference champions from:
ACC
B1G
Big12
SEC
Conf. USA
MAC
MWC
Sun Belt
American
Each Conference champion must be ranked w/in the CFP Final 25, with each of the highest being auto bids. Now, the ? was about Duke winning out. They are currently 5-4.
This means they will have defeated:
-UVA (CFP #22)
-UNC
-WF
-GT or Pitt in the ACCCG (CFP #15)
What if Duke beats UVA, & loses 1 of 2 to either UNC or WF, but then defeats a ranked GT or Pitt in the ACCCG? Again, that’ll be two CFP Top 25 teams eliminated on their resumé. The G5 is only sending one team & it’s going to be either: JMU, Navy, or North Texas.
The G5s have zero ranked teams right now in the CFP Top 25, while the ACC has 6. One of those 5 r getting in, as the odds of us making the ACCCG is almost 0%. The winner of the conference will be ranked in the Final 25, & that includes Duke if they run the table & win out.
