The Class of 2025

Coaches and GM’s get fired for drafting terribly and bad roster management. Mario doesn’t get unlimited funds. If he wasted them on portal DB’s who get beat out by freshman, yes it’s a bad look. Especially when we are thin and have very little experience at 2 of the top 3 most important positions on the field.

Guve me a break with the “Mario couldn’t know this kid would be so good” bull****. He’s not that good. The kid isn’t PS2 or Patrick Peterson. He could be one day if we’re lucky, but he ain’t that right now. If the transfers lose a spot to him, they’re not worth what they got paid
I must've missed the part where Dmoney projected him to beat out the portal DBs?

I don't begrudge Phil Steele for trying to find new things to poke at.

But this is really a silly metric. Yes, we've failed to get and develop the top players in south Florida. Why do we need to invent a new number that has us chasing service academies?

Who tf cares, In this new age of CFB, the goal is to assemble the best roster possible yr over yr homegrown or not.

It also sounds like terrible analysis. Bain, OJ, Fletcher, Lyle, Toney, Wes, we have a ton of local talent across our starters and 2-deep.

While this gets me excited, I’ll stay cautiously optimistic until I see it on the field.

Look at the class of 23 - only Mauigoa, Bain, and Fletcher have had big impacts. A few others (Bryant, Popo, Emory, brown, and hopefully Ray Ray and Pancake) have had modest impacts. The rest of the class is a bust (about 15 of 27 by my count).

I don’t remember ever seeing an unranked HS guy come in and be on any preseason list like that. That’s wild.
And honestly good on them for actually doing the leg work to get legit practice intel, thoroughly evaluate it, and ultimately decide to include him on the list.
They could've played it safe and thrown another Johnny 5 star on there and no one would've batted an eye. But out all the Fr DT's in the country they have our lowly rated guy up there with Elijah Griffin who reportedly has been mauling dudes in fall camp. If anything it makes me take their content a little more seriously.

This kid seems like a good find for a 3 star player

But once a 3 star gets some buzz for being better than he was ranked he gets elevated to 5 star expectations and then the fans trash them when they’re not that good
This fanbase? Unrealistic expectations and writing guys at developmental positions off if they don’t contribute early? Not buying it.

I’ve been hyping this kid for a while as being way underrated

I’m so ready to tear him down now

(There’s a few people that need to be told that’s sarcasm)
That last part says you've been on these boards brother for a VERY LOOOOONNNNGG TIME

/I remember when you first got married

Was listening to CIS podcasts yesterday and tonight. Lots of hype about this class.

Lowe
All 3 WRs
Simpson
All 3 OL
Both TEs
Fitzgerald
Ewald
Slimeto
Wiley
Pringle
Scroggins

That’s 16 guys insiders are saying are meeting or exceeding expectations. Am I missing anyone? Nickel seems to have faded a bit. Not much about Wallace, Campbell, Marcellin, Newton yet. But it sounds like the staff thinks they struck gold and the class will far overachieve its ranking.

Those last 4 names all dealing with injuries. I haven't heard much of Scroggins post spring but d end is our deepest room so not too worried on that yet.

OK well that's a little different then. Glad to at least hear that from you.

I think we would at least know some before real games.
Probably means hes tackling more in a controlled practice. Real game isn't same
Everyone thinks they can fight until they get punched in the face for real
