(The) Championship (Game)

When you watch the tape, the only difference between Carson Beck and Cam Ward is that Ward hunted the deep throws.

We have all seen it before. If Beck would have held the ball a second longer a player was streaking open for a touchdown. But Beck is cool with the check down.

Ward would hold it and take the risk of holding it to make the big throw. That’s really the only difference between the two.
yes I saw a few plays where #10 and #7 were open vs Ole Miss but Beck was already throwing it short

On a good % of snaps, Moten (our best DT) is lined up right over the Center.

Ohio State did this quite a bit and it crushed them. Same as PSU.

Koogan had the same issues that Brockermeyer had at Miami, they have a hard time anchoring against DT’s.
Yup. Stating the stupid obvious but Moten’s health is the most important thing to me right now

I know I’ve seen here and other places that Moten would be back next year.

He’s been putting on a DT clinic the last 8 weeks of the season and has played his way into some $.

I just don’t know if it’s where or the NFL.

Tangwell is saying Indiana RT and LT are not good. They rotate the RT cause it's a problem.....

Ok so ur saying we have no chance against a team who might not at all be able to block the best 2 DE in CFB? Literally 2 of the 3 best players on the field.

Really? Like really really?

Lace up the boots.

Miami is not a team you want to have issues with your LT and RT.

From what I have read their RG is a weak spot too. So how exactly are they this powerhouse OL if 3 of their guys are "eh"? Did they really just not face quality ends?

Last time we played a team whose RT wasn't good was OSU...

I think they mask it with the RPO and run game hammering the defense. We must stop the run and earn the right to put Mendoza face down in the dirt.

#5, #11, #99, and #18 need to eat

They are REALLY good at run blocking and they play to that strength, they stay ahead of sticks and RPO at highest rate in nation to keep Dlines honest.. Thats why the goal is to stop the run and then put them in true passing situations.. They are in that situation at a very low rate.. Have to earn the right to rush the passer

I will also add, I been saying for a minute that their right side is FOOD and the left tackle is better but he gets away with holds.. Against OSU he was straight up tackling Kenyatta and getting away with it in second half..

Would be nice to get more explosive (20+ yard) plays against IU. We got a couple of explosive passes against Ole Miss and scored TDs on both of them.

On the 4 playoff drives we have had an explosive play we are averaging 6 pts/drive.

On the other 25 non-garbage time playoff drives we have not produced an explosive play on we are averaging 1.36 pts/drive.

We get a 20+ yard rush 1.55% of our attempts on the season. We get a 20+ yard pass 10.54% of our attempts on the season. IU gives up 3.05% and 8.05% respectively.

Heard Beck was 1 for 11 on passes over 20 yards last couple games.. (The busted coverage to Marion deep)

Bruce Feldman spoke to 12 coaches that played Miami and Indiana.....all 12 picked Indiana. Article here:

Everyone picked Indiana to win. Does Miami have a shot?

Can Miami derail Mendoza and the Hoosiers? It’s a tough ask. The Hurricanes have to run the ball against Haines’ defense, something almost no team has been able to do in a long time, and no one has been able to rattle the Heisman Trophy winner all season. One other key point from a coach who faced IU: Can Miami be patient? It’s something other Hoosier opponents haven’t been able to do.

“If you get impatient, bad stuff is going to happen. They make you put the ball in play, and they tackle you and you have to play the next play.
People who get impatient get beat like Oregon just did.”
So exactly what the Miami offense has done the last 3 weeks?
