The best offensive line in America

In defense of our line the type of run game we have you arent going to be gashing teams for yards a whole game. We are going to wear down a handful of teams on our schedule but other than that stretch late in the game where we played pretty bland we imposed our will multiple times on a defense that many think is elite. I mean the one TD drive we basically told them what we were doing and the right side did as they please.

The more Beck an Co get comfortable the more these 4-6 yard gains will result in some 10-15 yards gains...then late in the game you want no part of tackling guys like Fletcher and Brown.
Great observation! You broke this down nicely.

The O-line is and was very solid against an elite ND front 7 but 3.4 yds per rush and an inability to consistently convert, via runs, short sticks into first downs makes this “best in the nation” claim seem a bit premature.
You aren't picking up first down consistently against that front when they have numbers. Play action would have beaten them. Dawson should have used our tight ends more.

Marty Brown really impressed me in the game as a back that really complements and jives with our OL. He's a big back, but I thought he showed an ability to get skinny and pick up yards through trash when our OL (against a very good ND front seven) got just a sliver or crack daylight between those big MFs. Fletcher did well here, too. Brown was just very clutch in the second half for us. I said in the offseason that the drop from Marty from Damien Martinez wasn't as steep as many think. You're getting Damien Martinez type play from Marty this year.

In the beginning of the game, Jordan Lyle was dancing too much and it stunted some drives, the big boys took what little room the OL gave us with the big push they game them and Fletch and Brown just picked up yards and kept us in a positive direction.

But Miami's OL is one of the best in the nation...and very well could be THE BEST. Just mauling out there. Now this unit is starting to get some real collective snaps and games played together and now the magic starts to really happen.

The OL played well, but they were far from perfect. That’s to be expected given the quality of the opponent.

I saw the game in person and then rewatched on Monday morning. Bell still struggles against smaller, quicker ends. He got beat a few times and not just outside; he got beat on spin moves too. (even Mauigoa got beat on a spin move). Bell is not a Day 1 draft pick.

With that said, they are strong at the point of attack. Simply powerful with the ability to assert themselves no matter the opponent. Trench bullies.

Beck is more conservative than Cam in the pocket . He’s not going to hold on to the ball nearly as long as he did. Which means less big plays but less sacks and that will help the OL. That and lacking on the outside at wr we’re going to be far less explosive but more ball control. Lastly the D will be better so the offense will get less chances . All the quick easy scores helped boost stats on O. More possessions. We all knew this was going to look different. It won’t be as aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but more complimentary.

I'm not exactly sure how they measure a "pressure" but 2 of Beck's TDs were under pressure. So does that mean they pressured him 4 times all game and twice he threw TDs? Ridiculous TDs. That would be pretty demoralizing for a DL.
