The best athletes ever?

Overall athlete? Probably Bo Jackson, Jim Thorpe, Deion Sanders.

Best athlete that dominated his sport? I would put Bill Russell over Michael Jordan. 11-1 in the NBA finals in 13 years.

Dan Gable lost once his ENTIRE career as a amatuer wrestler from college to the olympics. (Met the man; one of the most friendly intense guys I ever met.)

Depends on what we're categorizing here.

Hulk hogan deserves to be on this list, the big foot plus leg drop ran sports for almost 40 years.

Some of the greatest of all time never got paid a dime never recognized that even Michael Jordan would bow to in amazement.
So just because they make millions mean nothing, you find these athletes all alone as people walking by saying oh my look at the girl or boy OMG .

GOCANES

Facts. Some of the greatest athletes got locked up or died before they could have been recognized.

Andre the Giant. #kidding
ANDRE, was a perfect example of the system. he hurt all over, physically and mentally. he was paraded around and laughed at. his soul was belittle and people just did not see the signs. he hurt all over. never say that u are kidding. example after example on how people and athletes get sucked in to the dark side.

6”8 250 and just as athletic and skilled as the 6”6 200 Goat. Will likely be averaging the same stats, 27-7-7 in the next 2 plus years as there is no signs of skill decline ..Also wilt Needs to be mentioned. Was a world class athlete
Lmao @ Lebron being as skilled as Jordan...jordan has more mvps, twice as many rings, twice as many finals mvps AND better advanced stats...only thing Lebron has on Jordan is longevity

It’s Jordan but because of his will, his hunger and his dominance when the game was on the line, not just skills or stats. No one I have ever seen in sports has had MJ’s fire. Maybe dan gable.

I guess you didn't get to see Magic and Bird play, both had that same hunger and when the game was on the line they beat Jordan all the time. Boston beat Jordan 17 times in a row and swept him twice in the playoffs. Jordan didn't dominate until 91, even Detroit smoked him. I think some of you guys just want to forget what Jordan did in the 80's.

I agree...Wlit is in discussion.. dude has records that will never be broken and will not even be close to being threatened

Wilt was great no doubt, but he did it against a lot white stiffs much of his life. But he was probably the most gifted athletic 7 footer of all time. That being said If I had to start a team in a draft my first pick would be Jabbar, that sky hook was **** deadly. He was unstoppable when you ****ed him off. He would be my first pick every time. Wilt would not have been as dominate in the 80's where there were guys as big as him on many teams. I agree his records will never be beat.

No Jordan does not have all the advanced stats on his side. And he doesn’t have all the counting stats on his side. To actually sit here and claim that skill wise lebron isn’t on par to MJ is laughable. Jordan blows lebron away in ft shooting that’s about it when it comes to skill.

Now too the rings. The laziest argument of all. Let me say this 1st, championships are a team accomplishment. Yes, certain players will alway get more credit than the whole. But it takes a team to accomplish any championship aspirations...Yes, Jordan has 6-0 on his resume. But lebron has been to more. None and I repeat none of the teams Jordan beat are better than the 73 win warriors, the 3 future mvps plus Obama thunder, or the future 4 HOF spurs. The argument ppl always say is “Jordan stopped sooo many great players from winning”. Fact is the bulls in the 90s, especially the 2nd 3 peat were what the warriors are today. A stacked team. Built eerily similar since like klay and steph, mike and pipp were products of the draft. It’s rare that a organization drafts two future HOF in the same era and similar situation n age. Then u add a Cartwright, longley, Paxton, Armstrong..then a paxon, Kerr, kokoch, Harper. Along with what everyone never brings up, a watered down NBA (until the mid 90-late 90s). The bulls run happened in a vacuum. Or how’ when Jordan left none of those vaunted teams won in his absence. Nope it was the rockets who went back to back. And the bulls were still winning 50 plus with out Jordan.

Yes Jordan has one more mvp but lebrons prime has been longer than Jordan’s. Therefore he’s battled the “lebron fatigue” thing for years. Meaning D rose has a mvp that should be brons. So does KD. So does Steph(the 1st not the 73 win year). Meaning that if anyone put up lebrons numbers in those years they’d win the mvp that year no doubt.

I’m 25. So No I did not live through the mj era. But that makes me more objective than those who have the emotional nostalgic memories of mj. Those who swear his career was only 6 years. Ppl who promise Jordan never misses a GW BASKET. Ppl who promise Jordan wasn’t squaded In a weaker era of the NBA, especially western conference teams...But guess what. His games are on YouTube. And I’ve watched a very good amount being a basketball fan as I am. Therefore my conclusion is this, lebron will never pass MJ while he is playing. Because there will always be pushback from the Jordan fans. But 15 years after Lbj retires, when the NBA and culture realize how great the man was. When ppl come the realization that there will never be the total package like him for a very long time, ppl will come to the same conclusion that I have. There has never been a more complete basketball ball player to play. From scoring, to passing to defensive versatility. Nobody has done it better for longer than lebron. And skill wise he is not slowing down

What a steaming pile of horseshiit. Hahahhahahahhahaha. You obviously never saw the GOAT play. LeCuck can’t hold Kobe Bryant’s jock let alone be compared to Mj.

^^^^Truth. I hated the Bulls back then but MJ is the GOAT and it's not close. As far as Kobe he was clutch but he raped @JBCanes-NC in Colorado so that's a a big red flag.
