The Bank (Defensive Edition) 1/12

We need a nickel corner.
Jaboree Antoine can play the nickel. Ewald is another option. Heck, O’Conner may be an option as well when considering our depth at boundary CB. If Heatherman thinks we have strong nickels on the roster already, he has earned the right to suggest spending that $$$ elsewhere on DEF

Regarding Wilson and Perch.. Better to have a $2M DE than a $2M safety

Especially when your losing 2 NFL DEs but returning most of the secondary
I am taking the DE all day if we acting poor. That S is elite but Wilson would be just as elite, we need a DE that does everything well.

With no info and just for different reasons, easy guess is Damari. I hope it’s not OJ. I hope it’s not O’Conner.
would love for us to find a way to keep them all. We could go into next year with the best secondary in CFB if they all stay.

Transfers are a BIG part of cfb right now, you dont have to replace every position but EVERY roster will benefit from transfers.. NO ONE is recruiting ONLY High school.. We NEVER recruited like FSU and I am not suggesting that extreme, stop it.

No where in my post did I suggest Mario was doing a bad job.
No but you suggested only taking one replacement for both Thomas and Scoot was silly, when Fitzgerald is certainly an adequate replacement, and we've had a great recruiting DB class last year with a tone of transfers going in.

The recent injuries, even when Scott was out displayed that. While its scary to lose Scoot who should have got the Thorpe award, you replace him with Fitz and Thomas with Thorton and you have very adequate replacement all while the remainder of the DBs will improve, Poyser, Lucas, Brown O'Connor.

Never said ignore it, but I think the roster is at a position where 6 to 12 intake on the transfer are what to expect, like you see with other elite programs. Mario went heavy portal with incrementally better talent every year, while also doing a great job with HS recruiting and now in year 5 you can be picky., since you let the greenhorns earn their stripes.

@DMoney so that was the issue with Toure? He wasn't fully healthy? Earlier in the season he was a liability in pass coverage. But he's been coming on as of late.
That was always my read of the situation, the further away he got from the actual injury the healthier he became.

No TE, no Center, No LB, no Nickel...still no Dlineman

And "besides the most important position in sports, how was it not good?" Lmao
We literally just had a TE on campus that we have a very good chance of signing. The staff chose not to match Texas on the Pitt kid and they are bringing Toure back. I don't think the staff is even pursuing a center. Also, Thorton will most likely fill the role of Nickel. Things look good at the moment for Carter and Wilson
