Winning definitely isn't everything, especially in the NIL era. But it still matters a lot. The top recruiting programs have all made the playoffs and/or played for national championships. It’s such bs bruh I been saying it for years yet these retards are still retarded. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t consider himself smart. Yet these people still believe this sh, when it’s been proven time and time again wins don’t mean success at recruiting. It just doesn’t. It’s a nice “coach talk pitch” but that’s it. It’s something you say in a conversation to kids when you recruit them, that’s it. It doesn’t mean sh, it’s nice to get a conversation going to a recruit and for him to repeat it to reporters for fans to eat it up.
Sure, there are outliers like Miami, Texas A&M, Florida, USC, etc. but those teams are getting there with a lot of heavy lifting from NIL. The Alabama's and Texas's win recruiting battles with the help of NIL, but they also get to point to a lot of recent success and that definitely matters to recruits.
If we win 10 or 11 games and make the playoffs, I am not saying we will flip a bunch of the guys mentioned here, but it will definitely help with future classes and saying otherwise is crazy talk.
