The Bank (7/2)

It’s such bs bruh I been saying it for years yet these retards are still retarded. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t consider himself smart. Yet these people still believe this sh, when it’s been proven time and time again wins don’t mean success at recruiting. It just doesn’t. It’s a nice “coach talk pitch” but that’s it. It’s something you say in a conversation to kids when you recruit them, that’s it. It doesn’t mean sh, it’s nice to get a conversation going to a recruit and for him to repeat it to reporters for fans to eat it up.
Winning definitely isn't everything, especially in the NIL era. But it still matters a lot. The top recruiting programs have all made the playoffs and/or played for national championships.

Sure, there are outliers like Miami, Texas A&M, Florida, USC, etc. but those teams are getting there with a lot of heavy lifting from NIL. The Alabama's and Texas's win recruiting battles with the help of NIL, but they also get to point to a lot of recent success and that definitely matters to recruits.

If we win 10 or 11 games and make the playoffs, I am not saying we will flip a bunch of the guys mentioned here, but it will definitely help with future classes and saying otherwise is crazy talk.

This is going to go two ways.

1. There is going to be a Huge serving of Crow when this class signs

or

2. The mopes are going to sit around a table drinking Macallan 80 year saying I told you so.
So in this alternate universe you faqs live in does anyone actually get mad with good news? I know that you all repeat the same **** in every thread, but do any of you have any real proof that people are upset when something good happens?

Bruh Alabama was losing till they started their secret NIL under the table sh. Same with OSU, they were pretending to be bigger than NIL while they been paying for 25 plus years under the table. LSU Bama UGA OSU Clemson Oregon, they all got better when they decided to spend. And their hires at HC are the ones who told those schools if you want to win you have to spend. This was way before NIL. We just started spending, but when they want someone especially on the DL, they get them. They bat like 75% when they want a specific DT.

That whole we don’t put guys in the league thing is bs. We put guys in the league because they put themselves in the league. If Dylan Stewart went to Toledo who isn’t known for putting DEs in the league, I guarantee you he gets to the league as a top 5 pick. His natural ability got him to the league not a HC.

These kids know they are difference makers and they change the narratives for staffs on their own. They can win anywhere. So if Travis Hunter chose Colorado it means he doesn’t want to win? If he doesn’t want to win he still was a top 5 pick. The NFL didn’t care.

Seems everyone who covers the program just refuses to admit this, and it makes no sense to me. Lake and Gaby have downplayed it in the past. D said he thinks it’s an advantage because it’s an easier path to the playoffs on a pod this week. I don’t get it. High end kids consistently show that they want to go to the SEC or the B1G, while nobody is beating down the door to get to play in the ACC. It’s disingenuous to act like it doesn’t matter.
it doesnt mattrer for us.

were not an sec or big ten team...or fan base.

we wont have full stadiums to home games save fsu and one or two others similar to what we have now.

WE WONT BE TREATE DLIKE AN ELITE THERE **** W EAINT TREATED LIKE THAT IN THE ACC. GOOD LUCK WITH SEC

ITS COMMON SENSE...THE BEST FOOTBALL IN AMERICA IS PLAYED IN THE SOUTH. Well its called the SOUTH EASTERN CONFERENCE so alot of the high end kids live in local state school areas. THE SEC then poached texas flagship schools adding to the talent levels.

THROUGHOUT MY LIFE THE BIG TEN HAS BEEN A TWO TEAM CONFERENCE...IVE SEEN MORE ACC TEAMS WIN MNC THAN I HAVE SEEN BIG 10 TEAMS.

THE TOP 2 PICKS IN THIS NFL DRAFT WERENT FROM SEC OR BIG TEN SCHOOLS.

No mention of Lamar Brown?

On paper (emphasis on this), this is the most talented roster we've had in a while, so it's unfair to say Mario hasn't brought in talent. This is a massive year for the staff. From a development standpoint, they need to hit on some of these guys in the 23 and 24 classes. That doesn't mean these guys show some flashes here and there; we need them to have huge seasons. A perfect example is the dline. There is too much talent in that room not to be one of the more productive rooms in the country
Yeah I posted elsewhere I need to see the 2024 class live up it’s billing before I say too much about Mario’s recruiting

2022 was an epic fail
2023 is on life support (arguably already dead)

So before I give Mario too much talent acquisition credit I just hope to see more consistency

I'm not D$, but it's not hurting Clemson at all.

They're recruiting at an Elite level & are ACC to the bone.

I don't think kids care that much about it as people like to think.

If being in the SEC or B1G was really this major recruiting advantage, then South Carolina, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois & Michigan ST would also be recruiting powerhouses, but for some odd reason they're not.

People conflate invidual program success for conference success.

UGA, Bama, OH ST etc.. are not elite programs because of the conference they play in, they're elite because they spend a ton of money & win a lot.

Washington is in the B1G, have they seen a huge spike in their recruiting?

Oklahoma is on their 3rd class since joining the SEC, their class rankings have been, 8th, 17th & currently have the 38th ranked class in the country. Before joining the SEC Oklahoma was an absolute recruiting juggernaut. It's a small sample size by comparison, but they absolutely recruited way better in the Big XII than they have in the SEC thus far.

And it's not as if Miami is sitting at 15 right now, we currently have the #6 class & by NSD will sign several more prospects.

The best schools that recruit at an Elite level do so irregardless of their conference.

Great minds think alike.

Folks sit n make fun of UF recreuting abilities on here and they are a flagship sec program in state. Oklahoma was a great comparison. Mizzou isnt doing any better being in the sec if so its minimal.

We pretty much can walk in and take/flip whoever we want from the other schools u listes save for south carolina occasional kids. So what does that do or say about their conference recruiting prowess.

You spend money in recruiting you will have good classes....n thats not just bags to recruits....im talking budgets (national) and recruiting departments.

No yall just shut the **** up for about 2 mins until you move on to the next thread/thing to complain about.

Regroup and do what it takes to get Jackson and Stewart.

If Oregon is going to eventually get Davon Benjamin, then Jackson is S3. He’s 1B for us. Get him.

Clemson has a safety ranked considerably higher than Stewart and a kid who is similarly ranked. He’s our 1A. Get him.

That wraps up safety (crucial position this cycle
IMO) and do what’s necessary to get Kolojay and add to the biggest strength of our program and our
identity.

I get how breaking the bank on Lamar Brown, Russell, or Keys creates issues with the roster (though I think that’s a wimpy *** way to program
build) but getting these three guys ranked between 200-350 should be priority and one we can execute.

Generally, I don't think people should compare Miami's situation to Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Clemson or anywhere like that. Miami's position is somewhat unique. Ohio State hasn't had a significant drought of playing meaningful games/winning the conference/producing NFL players. It's as close to turnkey as any program in the country for just about any coach. They're also now firmly in the NIL game. The Alabama's, Georgia's and Clemson's of the country enjoyed early-adopter/first-mover advantages. Big-time bag men, dumped millions into facilities, had state laws changed to eliminate FOIA requests, and operated carte blanche with top cover from both the SEC/ACC and NCAA. Oregon experienced success in innovation with the uniforms, Nike, facilities, Chip Kelly's offense etc. Miami is a big spender now in a market full of big spenders.

D-Money used to say the most important thing is for Miami to stay relevant. I agree, that is a MAJOR component. Every new coach is "bringing back the swag", or "the old Miami", or "making the crib great", there's a flash in the pan, then back to the status quo. Miami has to WIN. The local well has been poisoned for 20 years (SFE etc.), most of these kids can't even name players off of the early 2000s teams, let alone the 80s or 90s. Miami is one of the most negatively "recruited" programs, probably in all of sports. Look at Carson Beck. Since transferring, he somehow became Jake Garcia reborn. Constantly discredited, always accused, slandered by media, sued by other universities... the difference was, those things were always true, but the team put belt to *** in spite of it. I do believe Mario is as good a recruiter as there is and is backed by big money, but the battle is uphill. Just "paying kids" or "offering early" isn't enough. A third of the battle will be the information/perception struggles, and the others recruiting/paying and winning. All need the same energy and focus.

Just WIN ./ it's that simple bro we have money now. What do you guys not understand? You start winning that means you've got talent that gets drafted you have development.

Gaby's and the TTS pod just dropped. Never heard Gaby says "bleak" more than once as far as a class updates. Yikes.

DL/Safety (and to a lesser extent, WR) are in particular setting up to be huge misses.

Not surprised. Two brand new coaches to try and sell DL. Doesn’t matter they played in the NFL. Kids want money and a path of development to the NfL.

Same can be said for the safety coach. WR is a position Miami hasn’t put someone elite in the NFL in 15 years. Why would anyone be shocked by this news?

We have football next month. I’m ready for games and this team needs to beat ND. It starts seek 1
