The Bank (7/2)

Go win 11+ games and see what happens.

If we add Cooper, we have a very nice floor of this class. We’re obviously going to add more kids.

At this point, I think we’ll sign a very good class, at worst, but we’re a month away from camp, it’s almost football season. The roster is very good. Go win a lot of games with it, sign your very good class, and hopefully you can add a few pieces to that to make it even better. This class will likely be better than 2025 but not as good as 2024. That’s ok, hit on who you get and retain who you have. The program is in a very good spot overall. It’s time to win football games, and god forbid this putrid league.

- On the football side, there is huge confidence from those observing workouts. They believe this is the best, most complete roster we've had in the Cristobal era by a good amount. I continue to hear rave reviews about Carson Beck's arm talent and overall skillset.

July is when I start to get excited for the football season and this update is music to my ears. 😍
They say this every year bruh for 20 years, except the Manny era where it got worse

By our fans logic “it’s cause of SEC”
Or “TAMU been winning for ages”
“Shemar helped with this more than you know”
“Doesn’t want to compete”
“Coach Moe gave him his Thanos chain”
The SEC/B1G thing is a bit strange

Penn State rarely recruits at the top. Same with Michigan. It’s OSU who is one of the richest programs in the country and Oregon who just got to the conference but is rich

Only reason we are even having these conversations with Miami in for so many blue chips is because the word is out that Miami pays big

I would say player development is #1. Key's is committed to LSU because they won 9 games, it's because the staff can point to all the studs they've put in the NFL
People have a rough time with this simple concept because they assume these kids are idiots (most of them aren’t)

Where they go to school is heavily impacted by who they think will position them best for their careers (like most kids picking a college).

So kids are choosing LSU (money being roughly equal) for then same reason you’d tell your kid to pick MIT over FIU-Engineering.

Ten win and showed that we can win even though we fell short, and we still can’t crack the next tier in recruiting. It just shows it’s the same schools regardless of NIL, I have given up that we will win a natty one day. We can be just good that’s it.

Facts all facts but people lie narratives and excuses

Guys rarely flip anymore in the NIL era. No clue why the staff would be banking on that
Interesting point.
If a kid verbally commits, say, in July, is there a contract signed then to make sure he can't be flipped later on?

not at all
after marios best year year
he signed a worse class than the year before
But we lost 3/4 games to end the season, and in particular couldn’t even make the ACCCG in a weak conference.

It may have been his best year, but it wasn’t a successful year. We had everything in our control and vomited everywhere.

No excuses this season. If we make the playoff, I guarantee the class will be better than the year prior.

I don’t think it’s as simple as go out and win games, and you’ll change their minds. That’s the samething we thought last year lol

Agree. The whole "just win games" mantra is foolhardy and naive. We just won 10+ games with a historic offense and we can't land a WR1 to save our lives....still. It is not just "win games" - there are other components at play.

What's concerning is we were able to get those flips in the 24 class coming off a disaster of a season, and we struggled to get them in 25 with arguably our best season in 20 years.
