I think the fact that Indiana just won a national championship with a team made up of mostly unknown transfers and UM also beat multiple teams consistently ranked in the top 5 in recruiting shows there might be a different way of doing business. And we narrowly beat an Ole Miss team that was made up of mostly transfers in the semi final game (which also beat teams that regularly rank as the top recruiting schools). Seems to me the way to win is put your biggest chunk of money towards elite, proven transfers, and then hit on player evals of high upside HS recruits (Bain, Toney, etc) . Maybe 2025 was just statistical outlier, but I think its was the culmination of where cfb was trending.
This post is far too sane to be published on CiS.

More and more of the returns are showing that this is a viable route.

What’s the story/background on Ayangbile? Looks look a legit prospect, but he’s from Texas none of the big in state programs appear to be in on him.

So what? You think we don't have other recruits lined up? You think Dennis Smith does just one line?

Do you actually go to school at USF? Asking cuz I'm curious what it's like to go to a lesser school than the one you actually pull for. I never experienced that before. Probably explains why I'm typically happy.
We have other 5-star recruits lined up? Well **** no one told me that part.

And yea I went to USF 20 years ago. Are you one of those "You didn't even go here" kind of gals or something?

Not realistic or we didnt value enough.. We barely seemed to go after him, of course the position coach who sucked finally has a prospect that he has ties to family but leaves prior.. smh.. He just seem like a player we could of made a move for.. Oh well..

I still dont know why the position is neglected overall, we didnt even grab a talent in portal to help..
Idk the reason I do know the result. Until proven otherwise 5* RB, CB, S, LB, WR and TE are a mirage. Yes, I know Lennear is currently a 5* and committed.

Players in the South have heard their whole lives how the sec is where the real players go. Some kids no matter how good Miami is will go to the SEC. Keep recruiting players from the Midwest and North that don't give two craps about the sec. We have cleaned up in Midwest. Keep it going.
This and well said. It’s going to take a some time before we erase the stench of our 20-year irrelevance AND the super-slurping of the SEC in the minds of recruits.

Some of these kids decided back in 9th Grade that they want to play in the SEC. Can’t blame them to be honest, and we helped reinforce that mentality by sucking for so **** long.

Find the beasts who want to be here and rebuild our legacy with them. The SEC slurpers will eventually come around.

the sky's not falling and I trust Mario will always close... but **** we about to run out of excuses for recruiting... We've already ran through...
- Miami doesn't have any facilities
- Miami doesn't have any money
- Miami can't recruit because we don't win big anymore

down to: our Conference sucks
2026 = #8 class
2025 = #14 class
2024 = #6 class
2023 = #8 class

uh ... what am i missing ... we aight

Nah, not really. I thought you were still in school given your user name and the pouting nature of your first comment I replied to. I'm one of those "measure twice, cut once" kinda guys when it comes to making (somewhat) serious commentary on this group. I'm self-aware enough to realize that 85% of the crap I post is just that - caca con maní. The other 15% is generally thought out and semi-educated; at least to the point where I don't omit things like the fact we already have 2 five stars committed and two more lined up.

Folorunsho - 5 star/high 4
Olu Olu - 5 star

You'll have to pardon me for directing my own personal irritation over the silly reactions on this board at you. If it makes you feel better, I'll probably lob a couple grenades at some other porsters too.

It might be time to start applying pressure in the streets. Tell STA UMiami wont accept any of their graduates this year if Matthews goes to Aggie. Make them send his behind to Dillard or get some pressure from locals who dont want little Billy or Suzie to do a year at FIU or Dade Community. Turn his teammates and classmates against him. We cant let locals play us like this without repercussions.

"I still dont know why the position is neglected overall,"
This^

and if there is a guy, he's neglected on the field

ND is on fire recruiting again this class. I have them ending Top 3, again. Does anyone really believe Folorunsho is really going to end up here with his ND ties? I didn't believe him when he said Miami was in the lead. I have never believed we are really in this. In this to raise his ND NIL, yes. Hey, maybe we do something very unexpected and money whip him. If that's the case, why not Matthews? A kid in this era that can't be bought is almost extinct. ND and A$M are spending huge money to get these classes of late.

I do like Duane Brown's son out of Houston. He would be a nice get. With our evals we could still end up with a great class like 2026. I just expected a Top 3 class with a handful of elite kids ready to compete stepping on campus. I never paid attention to #1 talk, ever. Go Canes!

Portal rankings:

2026 = #4
2025 = #3
2024 = #10

I would imagine the combination of the two would make us top 5 nationally the last 3 years. Nine players drafted in 2026 and what, 6 of them were transfers? You could have the #1 high school class and if your transfer portal class is garbage I guarantee you the results don't match the high school recruiting rankings.

Keionte Scott ran 4.33 at his Pro Day and 10.9 in high school.
And is a 24 year old grown man, not 17. Thank God Feld is gone and Miami players are testing better than they ever have. Dude's 17... he doesn't run a 4.4

Other guy was a G6 sleeper who is 21.

That sounds a little like Communism to me, but fucc it (pause), I'm down.

I grew up in the Midwest. Didn't want to go to Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Purdue, or some small local school to play D3 football. I was not a 5 star recruit (not that they had them back then). I did NOT want to stay in that area. I had a scholarship offer to go to UM, so I took it. Point is that sometimes, some people want a change of scenery. I've never once wondered what the folks in my hometown thought of me leaving cuz quite honestly, I didn't give a fucc and still don't. I have no regrets at all on that decision. Maybe Mathews is one of those types. Either way, F STA.

I actually think that's the negative recruiting being used against Miami. We all know it's BS but if Matthews falls for that I really don't want him at Miami.
I think it’s Mario’s job to make sure he doesn’t fall for that
I don’t blame Mathew’s
It’s Mario’s fault 10000% for not convincing him to come
This is on Mario not the kid
