I know you can't put to much emphasis on how they played BC, but with the combination of an excelling DL, a disciplined secondary and some nice open field tackling, I think we could have a potentially good defense on our hands.

And now through only the first game I know, we're ranked 3rd. So while I wouldn't advise getting hyped up just yet, I would say to watch the games against FAU and Nebraska very intently.

Our D did seem much more aggressive, and I Don't think Bethune has gotten better or worse....

but.....we've had 4 years in a row now of our coaches ****ting the bed in every meaningful game...

So until I see us beat real teams consistently, I ain't getting giddy about ****

Bethune will probably be fine in the MEAC this year. Plenty of FBS castoffs to win games. They came in thinking they could grind clock and we'd be passive on defense. Why wouldn't they? It is what we do. The fact that we decided to actually contest everything as opposed to being fine with them picking up 3-4 yards a play might have surprised them.

We had a guy on here who said he knew a Bethune player that was looking forward to the game because of our lack aggression and 2-gap style. At least we didn't let them dictate tempo by giving away yards. They did drain the play clock but nothing can be done about that.

How many games this week also took 10 minutes off the clock?

That last 10 minutes is when a div 2 team usually puts a drive together against 2-3rd stringers. An extra 80-100 yards could easily have been added.
