That was entirely on Rosier

Throwing players under the bus again I see. (Rosier did play like garbage). This loss is on Richt. Just like the 15 previous wins are on him. Own that ****.

At the end of the day richt wasn’t missing receivers all day.. that sh*t adds up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a qb miss that many open receivers running freely in a secondary. It was beyond horrific

Stupid comment by OP. Every great QB in our history has had off games. When that happens, you have to be able to run the ball. So don't say it's only Rosier. If we could have run the ball it would have taken the pressure off Rosier and slowed down the pass rush.

Lesson: Have to be able to run the ball when the passing game misfires, as it sometimes will. Especially in away games.
Hey @sshole we had no run game cause Malik was not completing passes and since they didn’t fear his arm they dialed in on stopping the run. On the TD to Berrios it showed that he threw a great pass which if he could have done that early in the game we could have scored 3 long bombs for TD’s

Our run block scheme has been a mess since they got here. They get a push on no one, literally bethune had guys penetrating. Our run game schematically is a mess. Ive been saying it going on two years..
Doesn’t help when teams don’t respect the pass cause the QB is not that good at all. If he would have completed some passes the run game begins to flourish but throughout the whole game like he admitted Malik was on cloud nine.

first off, the receivers he missed on actual throws were not open per se, they would have to have been "dead on balls accurate" (it's an industry term) balls. Second, there were receivers open on check downs or 2nd/3rd reads, but Rosier hasn't progressed off his first read all season. Third, the fact the O Line sucks and can't generate a run game to save their lives compounds our lack of being multiple on offense. We need hogs up front, we have ponies...

He is good. He just had a bad day. He's not great. He is not always that accurate on deep passes. Many of our great QBs, and we've had a number, have had bad days when they were off with everything. That's when you have to rely on your run game. They got a lot of pressure on Rosier and if we'd been able to provide him with more time, or run the ball more effectively, he might have had more time and been more accurate. That was one of the best jobs I've seen of an opposing team pressuring Rosier, perhaps the best.

I don't know how many UM QBs have been criticized over the last 15 years for locking on a receiver. This was said to be a particular problem with Kyle Wright and it seems the criticism followed with just about every QB since then. Maybe it is something that young QBs have difficulty learning to do. This is his first year starting. Some of our QBs were criticized for this problem since their first game through the day they graduated.

Honestly, it's a hard skill to master in having the vision to see the whole field as a QB. Why do you think there are so many busts at the next level. Rosier is a 1st read and throw or run QB...on rare occasion he is able to check down.

Agreed OP. St. Louis was really bad too.

Oddly enough McCloud had a good game and other guys failed to show up on defense, but that's not the reason for the loss.

Rosier did not play his best, but IMHO this has as much to do with the OL and DL just getting absolutely physically dominated at the point of attack. Especially the OL, no push, free rushers in the backfield all day long.

Nah. If Rosier hits on a quarter of the deep balls it would have opened up the run game. Instead he couldn't connect on a single one while they dared him to the entire game.
That’s not necessarily true. Rosier has hit on some of these in the past and the offense still couldn’t run. Rosier was awful, but OL was the same OL we’ve seen all year long.

Since FSU our rushing stats go...

GT game - 36 carries - 184 yards - 5.1 ypc
Cuse game - 32 carries - 136 yards - 4.3 ypc
UNC game - 46 carries - 176 yards - 3.8 ypc
VT game - 34 carries - 210 yards - 6.2 ypc
ND game - 42 carries - 237 yards - 5.6 ypc
UVA game - 32 carries - 148 yards - 4.6 ypc

We couldn't run? This is every game since Walton has gone down. I wouldn't exactly say we couldn't run the ball. You are just overreacting to a tough loss. Not surprised...just another soft shouldered fan to add to the bunch. Acting out the best way they know how...making **** up b/c you're all in your feelings.

We ran for under 50 yards against 4-7 Pitt and 3-8 UNC.
Most of that UVa rushing numbers are inflated from those late breakout runs by Homer.
We should easily run for 200+ yards on 5.5 ypc vs UNC, Syracuse, Pitt, and UVa.

Being a gamer, and having guts will only get you so far. The kid is not a talented quarterback, it was only a matter of time before we saw this, and we are lucky it took so long to show up. The reality is that he has been this bad player for a tone of snaps this season, but has masked it with a few plays when it counted. Unfortunately we didn't get those few plays today.

He's pretty much Tim Tebow in all honesty

National Champion, Heisman Trophy winning, 1st round Draft pick, Tim Tebow?

Gtfo. Rosier isn't close to his level, Gator or not.

He is referring to Tebow on the Broncos not as a Gator.

Disagree. He was overthrowing them by several yards.

As you saw with the Richards TD, if you just put the ball in the same post code as our WRs they'll probably come down with it. He didn't even give them that chance.

It’s. A waste of time to rebut someone who will LIE to advance their argument. Slack shouldered? LOL.

Walton going down didn’t change any equations. Miami ran for 83 yards against FSU on 29 carries. Walton was 12 for 25.

Miami ran for 59 yards on 32 carries at UNC. 2 of the carries accounted for 34 yards. The other 30...totaled 24. You LIAR!

The stats that matter, that demonstrate push or at least a functioning oline unit is short yardage.

Miami is last in the nation on 3rd AND 4th down when needing 3 yards or less, or 1 yards or less. Last. That’s two separate stats. Miami is last at both.

Miami is 123/129 FBS teams on third down conversion. 2nd to last in P5. Only Kansas is worse.

Believe what you want, but those insults you throw around so readily are sticking to you. The rest of us will examine all weaknesses of the program beyond Rosier - who was not the only reason Miami lost the first game of the season.

It can be argued that Rosier helped save this season by bailing out the OL in many games this season.

I think this game falls on the O as a whole from the missed throws all game to the crappy oline play and poor playcalling/gameplan. This was the first time we needed our o to win a game and they couldn’t. You can’t expect the defense to play lights out every game down the stretch. Even Clemson’s vaunted d gave up over 40 to this same Pitt team last year. We still have a shot at the playoffs and I believe at the beginning of the year if somebody told or us we would have one loss going into the acc title game most woulda gladly accepted that and called it a success.

This is a scary few stats ... but have been watching it so no surprise just scary to see

Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. Yes, he's been clutch this year. But jesus christ he was Kirby levels bad today

Then I'm a fool...and honestly I feel the same way about you right now. You're a long time poster and better than this. Blaming this whole game on Rosier is borderline asinine.

The O line played like hot garbage. We had ZERO running game.

Rosier is the same guy he's been all season....streaky as ****. Guess what though...that "streaky as ****" is better than anything we've had here in a LONG LONG time.

Let's call a spade a spade. Manny's unit has held up their end of the bargain for most of the year while Richt's hasn't. You want to blame that all on Rosier then that's your thing...but I know enough football to know what I'm seeing. This is the 2nd different QB this offense has had under Richt and I'm still seeing the short middle of the field ignored for large stretches of the game with predictable play calling throw into just for good measure.

I have zero problem with Richt being our head coach...but I'm going to say the same thing I've said for two years now...we'd be a better team with a dedicated OC. It would free Richt up from that minitua and allow him to manage the game from a higher altitude.

But what the **** do I know.

Not to get into a big debate about the game, Rosier hit on half of the wide open basic throws yesterday we win this game easily. yes the line didn't get much push, but if you have no threat passing it does not help. Look our team hit on what I thought they could do so far. maybe something happened to the young man's dad that no ones speaking about. Remember someone posted about the line changing the night before. He just didn't look like himself for most of the game, and I'm not speaking of looking like tom brady, he looked way worse than teem martin yesterday. Let's pray that Clemson gets beat up worse than we did yesterday, still win and we bounce back next week, which I think we can. We just need a bit more from Malik, not a ton more, just complete half of those give me deep throws!

You should shut the **** up. I pulled those stats straight off ESPN.com. Calling me a liar makes you look pretty silly. I can't take another word from you seriously. What's even crazier is that you cherry picked one stat of all of the ones that I provided and made some sad attempt to take it apart. The fact is (and it is quoted what you said) that you said that we could not run. These stats, these FACTS, prove otherwise. For you to entirely change your argument makes you look like a dumbass. Which I already knew by your crybaby bull**** posts prior.

Miami vs. North Carolina - Team Statistics - October 28, 2017 - ESPN

Don't call someone a liar when they made an honest mistake late last night. I accidentally traded Miami for UNC's stat line. It does not take away from the overall point...u can't cherry pick a single stat out of the entire post to try and make a point. Its a puss *** way to form an argument.

You wouldn’t recognize how weak it is to tell someone on a message board to shut up. It’s cowardly. But...I bet it defines you. You lied. Taking me seriously isn’t the problem; anyone taking you seriously is the danger.

And now you’re crying because not only did you pick stupid stats that don’t define the struggles in the running game, but you lied about them as if they were not accessible for the rest of us to check.
