I have no issue with the hiring, but for those cheering hiring from within, that also did in Clemson.

The first time Dabo promoted from within was with Tony Elliot and Jeff Scott as co-OCs; the media made a big deal of it as if Clemson would not score points without Chad Morris. Hiring from within isn’t really the issue; nor is it being too sentimental to fire guys.

He quickly got rid of Brandon Streeter after Elliot went to UVA; then, brought in Garrett Riley to coordinate the offense the past three years.

The biggest causation for Clemson’s drop-off is the loss of Brent Venerables. Not using the transfer portal earlier on is an overstated causation as well. When Brent leaves, their scoring defense stops being consistently ranked in the top ten; with the infrequent exception during his tenure.

It’s Tom Allen’s defense now and fate of Dabo’s future depends on Allen doing a **** good job.

Read between the lines on this one. There was a certain name from a certain school that came up twice in the last few months. Twice it seemed like it would happen, and then twice it went cold. Now we have moved forward.

Yeah I’m quite unsure why some posters were talking about Terry needing to pull Wright to prove he could recruit. . . . . That ship is sailed now. That’s an unfair expectation.

Gabriel Osborne is the challenge ahead of us/him now.

He won with Taj Boyd, Kelly Bryant and even to some extent Cole Stoudt in 2014. 2023 is the first time since 2010, when Billy Napier is the OC, Clemson doesn’t win ten games.

Cade regressed big-time however they went 9-0 in the ACC, 11-3 in total, with DJ in 2022. Cade Klubnick is still a NFL quarterback who threw 36 touchdowns with 6 interceptions as a junior when Clemson made the playoffs. Their losses that year were to Louisville, Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina who were all 9+ win teams.

No trap. If the guy had employed simple reading comprehension skills, he would have known that I never said that Jefferson "didn't earn it".

But just as I am fine with other schools accusing Miami of out-spending everyone, I will also be content to let my reputation precede me. Even if it's a bit inaccurate.

Yep. I didn't want to mention the Donte Wright angle, I already have a weirdo poster that thinks I said Jefferson "didn't earn it", but we were definitely making runs at both Wadood and Wright.

I would also expect Tubby Smith, with his resume and at that point in his career (post-Kentucky), to be a better and more accomplished coach than Richard Pitino was after all of one year as head coach at FIU.

Can you tell us what put Lucas over Pitino?

The genius coach-hiring brain of Dan Radakovich.

This is the correct approach.

I hope and pray that Jai Lucas succeeds, Miami is my alma mater.

But I am incredibly disappointed in Radakovich and another disastrous HIRING CYCLE.

On top of which...the Pitino-haters are talking about "thirteen years" while ignoring the fact that Pitino has New Mexico firmly in the mix for his FOURTH trip to the NCAAs. So, I don't know, but suddenly his career accomplishments become 33% better if he has 4 NCAA bids instead of 3 in his "thirteen years"...

I don't understand the ****ting on Richard Pitino, a head coach who is rising. To sit back and say "he's only made the NCAAs three times in 13 years is hilarious, since he is on-track to make his 4th NCAA appearance in Year 13 as a head coach. He was a bit up-and-down at Minnesota, but seems to be doing much better at New Mexico.
