Comment below was in a locked thread so i couldn’t use multi-quote.

I knew you would fall for the bait. I knew I could trick you into wasting your time churning through old threads.

Very kind of you to selectively edit my posts, in order to eliminate all of the context and the full discussion of candidates besides Jai Lucas and Richard Pitino.

As I already acknowledged on the other thread, dip****s such as yourself were on such a laser-focused effort to discredit every other coach besides Jai Lucas that it became necessary to provide some fair accounting of the resumes and accomplishments of other candidates.

I knew you would fail in this challenge, primarily because I don't give a **** about Richard Pitino. ****, I don't even like Rick Pitino, let alone his son. I'm no fan of Richard Pitino. But I can sure as **** provide the resumes of a half-dozen coaches who should have been INTERVIEWED for the Miami job, rather than focusing on one guy to the exclusion of everyone else. And rather than slandering all of the other candidates besides the one that I personally favored.

More importantly, I have made this same "coaching search" point at every turn in every UM coaching search for the past 25 years. With one exception. Mario Cristobal, who I said should be considered WHEN WE HIRED MANNY.

Thank you, though, for acknowledging that I absolutely wanted Jai to succeed. I just hate the ******-*** way that Miami has conducted most of its head coaching searches over the past quarter-century, which shouldn't be some kind of crazy or controversial viewpoint. It just becomes so when people pick their own favorite candidates and then rip apart all the other candidates.

If only we could have cloned Sam Jankovich.

The first time Dabo promoted from within was with Tony Elliot and Jeff Scott as co-OCs; the media made a big deal of it as if Clemson would not score points without Chad Morris. Hiring from within isn’t really the issue; nor is it being too sentimental to fire guys.

He quickly got rid of Brandon Streeter after Elliot went to UVA; then, brought in Garrett Riley to coordinate the offense the past three years.

The biggest causation for Clemson’s drop-off is the loss of Brent Venerables. Not using the transfer portal earlier on is an overstated causation as well. When Brent leaves, their scoring defense stops being consistently ranked in the top ten; with the infrequent exception during his tenure.

It’s Tom Allen’s defense now and fate of Dabo’s future depends on Allen doing a **** good job.
there whole staff is just clemson connections or ppl that played for dabo thats a part of it almost as much as the transfer portal.

Because they werent really losing talent to the portal as much to justify.
I mean we know venables steals signs...hes a good dc.

Their offense has been an issue more so..even with adding riley.

Completely expected. It's on-brand for you. Someone engages in a discussion of all of the available coaching candidates, and you turn that into "you're a fanboy".

Try posting substance instead of memes.

And feel free to apologize for personal family attacks. Maybe then people can take you more seriously.

Yeah i agree with that, but that’s different than promotions being their downfall. Their staff has always been like that since dabo took over and he’s won that way.

Agreed on them not losing that much via the portal to need it.

not saying their offense hasn’t dropped off too; but the biggest problem has been the loss of venables over anything else imo. Like Riley couldn’t fix the offense and he was an outside hire; he had one good year outta 3 years, and he did worse than the Clemson guys he replaced.

Venables himself was an outside hire; the best one Dabo made. Their defense under Tom Allen was better in 2025 than it was 2024.

I mean they also EXCLUSIVE hire from within/ “Clemson guys”. Their entire staff is/was like former Dabo players…. He was lost in his own hype

Y'all really beefing because of the time of the Stanford game still?

Nah. I just have to resort to "self-help" because the Maudes haven't said anything to him about getting into personal attacks.

To be clear, I'm not devastated by these personal attcks, I'd just like to see an even-handed application of behavioral standrards.
