Point is....we never had that...with 5 (really 6) NCs teams....The Greatest team in NCAA History did just fine with one....and to be honest....How has having 2 LBer coaches done us lately??....Our LBer coaching is, and has been horrendous for quite a few yrs....
You do realize they allow more on-field coaches today than back then, correct?

One of the better defenses in CFB over the last few years. It's not that odd to have OLB/ILB coaches nowadays. With the 4-2-5 and the different responsibilities of the Striker from a traditional OLB, I can understand why Miami would have two LB coaches. Now whether we need a better duo than the ones we have now is a fair question.

The New England Patriots feature two offensive line coaches, an outside linebackers coach, an inside linebackers coach, a cornerbacks coach, a Kick Return coach who assists with Running Backs...

You should get the point, coaching duties are getting split up more and more. Certain teams, as mentioned before, have passing and run game coordinators. That goes for both, the professional and the college level.

I dont think T2 dislikes the staff. If he does, he wouldnt consider us in the first place and straight up go somewhere else.

I will trust Cribby. Its his choice now. Getting him from a player perspective would be great, but that wouldnt put the concerns about his personality and all that women beating **** away.

He needs to be on a straight line.
Yes he does dislike certain staff members...thats undeniable....

I hear ya but times change man. College football landscape is entirely different than it was back then. Both elite talents and hidden gems were a lot easier to keep home.

We had Shaq and Pink at LB for the last 4 years prior to this so there just hasn’t been a ton of turnover so not really an opportunity to evaluate how good the LB coaching actually is. You can say what u want about the 2 but the reality is that 50 percent of our starting linebackers that have been draft eligible going back to 2016 are on NFL roster.

Flagg and Brooks have flashed at times and still very young. Tirek and Huff we will see when they hit the field how they’ve been developed.

You really only need a ILB and OLB coach if you're running a 3-4.
They're completely different positions.

Every defense should have a CB and Safety coach though.

The stuff you work on for CB's doesn't always apply to Safeties, and vice versa. The reads are different, the footwork is different, run fits are different, etc etc etc.

Same with ILB's and OLB's in a 3-4. You're teaching the OLB's pass rush techniques, how to read/set the edge, how to play coverage versus TE's or slot WR's or playing zone in the flats, etc etc etc. Completely different stuff than the ILB's.

Our LBer coaching is horrible....Period.....Our perimeter D is awful the majority of the time...RBs have a field day running outside of Offensive tackle...
