LB recruiting is a bigger issue than LB coaching. Are Branden Jennings and Zach McCloud playing much better with different coaches? Shaq and Pickney played pretty good with the same guys.

One of the things that hurt development this year is the shortened spring and offseason. Guys like Huff and Cave really needed that time.

LB recruiting has only been slightly better than CB under Manny’s tenure (including his time as DC).

Stroud and Banda have been doing well but neither are elite.

Id rather they fired Patke and made Telly Lockette a Def coach, he certainly has a better resume and more experience than Patke, and that’s not saying much

Auburn NEEDS some positive momentum for the fan base. They have pitchforks out for Malzahn but he isn't going anywhere this year. If they can distract them with some positive recruiting buzz, that helps, especially with a 5 star. Lewis made the trip while the team was at Bama. Who did he see or talk to? Not team members like others who have taken these "on their own dime" trips. some innuendo on their board that he made a trip to Pat Dye's cabin.. that's where Auburn tries to "seal the deal."

Still almost two weeks to early signing.... A lot can happen

Every year with weeks of signing day Auburn began to roll money like the top dogs. It never fail to amuse me how many lives Malhzan have..

7-1 and we act like a 1-7 team. I`m just happy to be where we`re we are. Great team no, but maybe some of us see progress.

Both @Liberty City El and @Dwinstitles both know my guy real well...Waiting on what he has to say....My other source said, T2 Loves his boys...but not crazy about staff...

Most kids hate Saban so I rather have playing with savages as the advantage.

It seems as if Manny was just a bad evaluator/recruited slow footed/reacting LBs in his time...

He also didn't sign a true LB in the 2018 class which is what hurts us alot now as well

The guys they've recruited since seem to have way more potential, just need time since most are Fresh or Soph

Flagg is decent. Brooks is decent, but has been hurt. Frierson is playing really well.

Tbh, I think that McCloud and Jennings just arent that good.

Agree here. I think Patke/Baker have recruited better LB'ers than Manny did.

Brooks (who clearly isn't 100% this year and is still 2x better than McCloud and Jennings)

are all fast, aggressive, twitchy LBs who should excel more in our system than the guys we've put out there. They just need time.

A guy like T2 has similar qualities if not better, and would be huge to land and add to the mix. Especially if he's an EE. Get those 4 plus Flagg rotating and we're going to have a massively improved LB position come 2021 and 2022
