Coley, Pata or Hartley?I've heard a familiar name
Coley would be a home run in today’s college football not just the recruiting part but the GM part and would totally destruct what UGA has going on.

So we’d improve recruiting and TE play stays the same? Sign me up.I can’t get over the fact Coley is UGA’s WR coach and that unit is terrible. I mean those Wide outs were so freaking bad with drops that Carson had to transfer out. Also how valuable is an elite recruiter with a suspect development record in the age of NIL?
I could be wrong, but don’t the TEs typically work with the WRs on catching drills?Thoughts on Pata as a TE coach?
Also, are TE coaches essentially former OL coaches who transition to TE? Not sure how nuanced the role is…
I’d rather have Pata than the ghost of Christmas past. But way more than either I’d love to get a special teams guru. Mario will be THE recruiter as long as he’s here. I just don’t really value Coley really. Give me an actual coach. So we’d improve recruiting and TE play stays the same? Sign me up.
I agree. More just talking ****.I’d rather have Pata than the ghost of Christmas past. But way more than either I’d love to get a special teams guru. Mario will be THE recruiter as long as he’s here. I just don’t really value Coley really. Give me an actual coach.
& Most importantly we had **** good evaluations and development. Being real we've got a few REALLY good prospects in over the last couple years. But they've regressed outside of anything but inline blockers. Woodiel was a god awful hire and all I want is someone who can bring in value and production from the position again. Alot of that starts with Dawson but I'm not gonna let today become about him. So there's that.Yea he would be a great hire, he was relentless on the trail for his position group
I don't know a lot. He's respected as a coach in general and he coached them at FAMU I believe. He's needed as a recruiter and just as a good dude to have in the locker room. Loyalty is a factor here as well... he's not going anywhere from here and not bolting to Ole Miss or whatever Woodiel just did.Thoughts on Pata as a TE coach?

I trust the next TE Coach will be a huge upgrade& Most importantly we had **** good evaluations and development. Being real we've got a few REALLY good prospects in over the last couple years. Pata is a ghost of Christmas past as well and you have no reason to believe he'd do anything for the room beyond turn them into additional offensive lineman... I don't value coley as anything but a recruiter and honestly don't want him anywhere near here. But I don't want more unproven coaches either. Production & development from the position is what matters.I’d rather have Pata than the ghost of Christmas past. But way more than either I’d love to get a special teams guru. You could always look at it as couldn't possibly be any worse...I trust the next TE Coach will be a huge upgrade
Given how we’ve used TEs the recruiting there has been pretty good honestly. Lofton, Gilbert, Schott etc these guys are all blue chipsI trust the next TE Coach will be a huge upgrade
That freak we have coming in (pause) Gavin looks like he can do everything we ask. And that will get him on the field asapGiven how we’ve used TEs the recruiting there has been pretty good honestly. Lofton, Gilbert, Schott etc these guys are all blue chips
Not too sure what to make of the whole position over the last few years. “USE THE TE MORE” seems like a lazy argument
We can certainly do better. Would hope Lofton stays healthy and starts to show why he had so much hype
It’s just been a strange few years for our TEs. Like 2024 people complaining about Arroyo usage, it’s tough to complain about an offense shattering records, but I understood itThat freak we have coming in (pause) Gavin looks like he can do everything we ask. And that will get him on the field asap
Field is 100% not returning to an on-field role. No interest in it.Not sure if it will happen and/or be long-term, but I wouldn't be surprised for Field to be back on the field.
Though from a purely selfish standpoint, I'd love to see the return of the cannibalistic humanoid underground dweller...
Should be of note that when Field was at Oregon, he was in the same role he is in nowWhy was Field demoted over Woodiel? I can’t recall.
Mensa will throw to the TE if he gets open. I feel like we lack at TE. I’m hoping Gavin is that game changer we need. Brock was that guy but hopefully he isn’t since he left lmaoIt’s just been a strange few years for our TEs. This year the Bauman usage was absurd. I think we just expected a lot more from Lofton. Low key he was an important injury against Indiana. Whatever it was, health, game moving too fast, he started to become a weapon but he was pretty useless early in the year
I think with Mensah he’s a guy I would look to have a good season this year though he still won’t be a priority
We need development more than ever in the NIL era, #87 shamed TE.U with the amount of snaps he received and nobody was good enough to unseat himwho ever is the te coach has to be a "recruiter". so that would be Pata for me.
