Tampering

It's really happening looking at the Jackson st wr that just hit the portal.. he was their leading receiver lol.. probably heading to a bag school to build his draft stock.. thoughts on schools tampering with other teams players.. it's so much going on with the covid restrictions being lifted and families low on money Bags schools are gonna clean up this cycle because of the financial situations because of pandemic????

Let’s say Bandy’s story is true. If someone did paid that much for a 5’8 db then how much did uga boosters pay for TC, Ryque, Ringo etc.
How much did bama’s boosters pay PS2?

Amazing what happens when you don’t get the players you want because now everyone is doing what you were doing illegally.

It’s as if they felt like they were in some exclusive “can’t touch me” club and now they’re complaining cause everyone is invited.

Nobody can convince me that Nick Saban retired for any reason other than the fact that he couldn’t cheat the system anymore. It’s way harder to actually win when the other teams are playing by the same rules as you.

As soon as NIL became legal, Bama & UGA suddenly fell back to Earth.

The dominant juggernauts that were guaranteed shoo-ins to be National Championship teams, just out of nowhere started looking like every other middling top 20 team.

Coincidence?...

The SEC and Big Ten do think they are special and entitled. Why else try and rig the playoff system to get automatic seeds double the ACC and Big 12?
You have to understand how the UF, UGA and Bama brain works. When the SEC sucked for a decade, they would ignore the national championship and claim SEC champ status was just different.

It’s crazy to me how the SEC has fallen off and cable networks want to give them five guaranteed playoff spots in 2030

I don't think NIL by itself is what has increased parity in CFB. The bag schools had an unfair advantage in the old model, & they also have an advantage in this current model. The teams with the biggest NIL budgets are still in the SEC & Big10. This was evidenced by last yr's recruiting cycle, where 17 of the top 20 teams in the final rankings were teams from the SEC & Big10, & OSU winning the NC with a $20 mil roster; one of the most expensive in the sport.

Imo, the bigger parity increasing measures that have been implemented were lifting restrictions on the transfer portal & expanding the playoff field to 12 teams. Roster turnover has always been an essential feature of CFB, but the transfer portal has made this even more so. Today, it is not uncommon to flip an entire roster yr over yr by adding upwards of 30-50 players. This has had a huge impact on overall team cohesion, continuity, & player development. Without these 3 things, a team with a decided talent advantage on paper, can easily play down to the level of its competition, and lose to a less talented team. The expansion of the playoff field besides providing greater representation has also made talent acquisition more equitable.

Even with the aforementioned parity increasing measures, CFB is still very much on an unsustainable trajectory. In addition to preserving regional rivalries, more needs to be done, as it relates to establishing an enforcement entity, and implementing spending controls. I hate Socialism as much as any Cuban on this forum, however there's a reason why the NFL has embraced its principles to become the most profitable & successful sports league on the planet. Key stakeholders of the league have always understood that there exists a direct relationship between maintaining the competitive balance & parity of the league and increasing it's popularity. Even someone like Jerry Jones, who's as much of a staunch capitalist as there is understands this basic concept. Revenue & merchandising profit sharing (until 2010), Salary cap, The Draft, revised scheduling based on previous yr's W/L record, and uniform gameday scheduling, are all examples of the league embracing Socialism.
